I have been asked many times how the LPGA constructs their field lists every week.
In most cases they use the LPGA Priority List.
Here is the brand new 2021 LPGA Priority List (with a brief explanation of how they put their weekly fields together).

Three sets of sisters have won LPGA tournaments. Here is why Jessica and Nelly Korda are the standout siblings.

You managed to put the fire out, Bushy. To be fair, she couldn't miss, and it couldn't last, but it was very impressive.
Patty was very impressive too. The LPGA must be hoping she goes on to become a dominant player. So many of the recent major winners don't look like winning again. I'm not allowed to call them fluke winners, but Pernilla Lindberg hasn't had a top 10 since her major win, as just one example.

Pity to see Hannah Green lose the HSBC event in Singapore by 1 after bogeying the last 2 holes but a great effort anyway.

Yeh that finish was brutal PT. Monstered that putt from off the fringe on the last too. You'd think just lag it down there and go to a play off

We only remember the winners. Until I read it in a news report, I'd forgotten that Hannah Green finished third the week before, in LA.
Definitely enjoying a run of form (and lots of cash).

Well at least she's giving back when the program is voluntary, she's also the first to do so.

Isn't it mandatory?

But it could only be enforced on money paid by Golf Australia.
Probably another reason why Mrs Day won't let Jason play here after he became successful.

Yes, I should have read the whole article.
The mandatory bit was introduced in 2015.

I have to say I've been enjoying the Ladies Matchplay from Shadow Creek much more than I thought I would.
I wasn't impressed by the course at all when the men played it late last year. I'm not sure whether the greens are much firmer, the guys hit much higher and with more spin, or whether it is purely the matchplay aspect, but it is much less of a target golf yawn this time around.
There are some holes where being above the hole, and particularly just off the green above the hole, is turning possible birdies into difficult pars if the player is in the wrong spot. It has led to a number of instances where the player who appears to have the advantage can't get close enough to be sure of saving a half.
I think I'll be watching a lot more of this than I will of Colonial, which seems to be a birdie fest for the men.

I didn’t see the course when the blokes played it and I enjoy the LPGA much more than the PGA Tour. This week is no exception.
The two things which have annoyed me so far are the repeated referrals to odds for everything now the yanks have embraced punting and the references to par. Who cares? The fewest shots wins the hole, there’s no need to talk about par.

Interesting to see that Carlotta Ciganda was penalised for slow play.
I watched a bit on Thursday and Jin Young Ko took what seemed like 3 minutes to hit a 10 foot putt for a win.
Wasn’t penalised.

At least the USGA / R&A banned players having their caddies stand behind them to line them up even when they were hitting.
That seems to have completely disappeared as it was another cause of slow play.
The next step is to stamp out players taking ages to line up a putt from every conceivable angle.
Augusta National banned the super detailed green reading books for the 2021 Masters to speed up play and put some skill back into putting.

Very strangely, they ate teeing off on holes 1 and 9 today (not 10).

Lake is the main course as used by the USGA in previous US Opens. The cliffs is a par 3 course. Not sure about the Ocean.
