The Sunshine Coast is 70km long. Where specifically are you moving to? How far are you prepared to drive? Cheap course, or as good as possible?
You wouldn’t go wrong if Join the closest one, there really isn’t any bad ones and there are wankers at all of them.
Moving to Warana, just South of Mooloolaba. I’m thinking best course possible!

There is nothing super close there. South, you have Caloundra and Pelican Waters. Pelican is pretty decent but is going through some land sales / reclaimation / re-route soon so might not be a decent option.
North is Headland, Maroochy River, which I rate highly, and Twin Waters. Maroochy is great (IMO) but very polarising. Twin Waters is pretty typical resort course, and I haven't played headland. Heading north is Peregian, Noosa (x2) and a few others, but probably not worth the drive vs what you have closest.
Other options on top of what Benno said are Nambour and Beerwah, and maybe Cooroy and Maleny. Headland and Caloundra are the two closest to Warana, and should both be involved in pennant.
are you a carpark golfer or a clubman?
for where you are living its Headland, Caloundra and Maroochy. you should just go play them all.
There is a really good crew at Caloundra if you are a decent golfer, can remember Adam Ant, and love a beer.
I played Caloundra on Wednesday, good members track.

Headlands will give you a free round if you are thinking of joining. Good track for boofheads who think they are good. Caloundra if you are actually good.

Caloundra is better than Headlands! All are cheap compared to Melbourne golf Flusher. Distance to drive matters as Qld drivers will do your head in! Kawana to either course is about 10 to 15 minutes! Lots of Retirees so can be challenging to get a tee time. You will be in demand if you are a Scratch so negotiate reduced nomination fee if possible. Both are about $1000/year (Annual subs) with nomination about $1000 to $1500.
Where did u play in melbourne (pre-covid)?

Playing mostly at Club Mandalay in the North so that I can play with my Dad & Uncle, but also play Sanctuary Lakes a bit... On the wrong side of town to make the big clubs work for me!

I really like SL, they have had a tough time over the past 12 months or so due to the development work around the 10th & 11th. They also have some governance issues to deal with. That aside, my view is that the layout is great, can play easy without a decent wind but that doesn't happen all that often... There are a few boring holes but some rippers in there as well. The nasty rough and well positioned bunkering makes you think through each shot.
I love the par 3's at SL

Asked Mark today who was the pro at Pacific GC for over 20 years. He said Headlands is better than Caloundra.
Well thats a hostile witness for Headlands if there ever was one!
(they shafted his brother in a big way)
both courses have their ups and downs (pun intended). Headland is mountain goat country, Caloundra needs ladders on some of their greens. bring a chipper with you for the 2nd putt.
Which greens Blakey?

I play the mid-am there every year and the organiser always puts the holes on top of a pedestal and speeds up the firm greens 'cos he is a bastard. Pretty much every hole has a tough spot, some get diabolical. Might be ok every other day of the year though, never played it when its easy
