    Default WDYSTM - February 2020

    Bloody World Handicap System.

Trying to get a 39 and 43 out of my twenty before the Vic Champs.

Replaced a 39 (off 13) with a 38 (off 9), to bog the tractor even deeper.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.

    37 points / 80

A 9 on the last was not ideal for the medal round

Was off a daily handicap of 8

Played to 3, slope played to 2.4.

    Not bad for shooting 80

    02/02/2020, Corinda Pitch 'n Putt.

One of the things that pisses me off about being injured, is not being able to do things with the kids. My youngest is into golf at the moment, and I haven't been able to take him out at all over the summer. Today, I took him out for 18 holes at the pitch 'n putt, which also doubled as a bit of an injury test for my shoulder and pelvis.

No play since October, so of course I birdie the first hole. When it is pitch and putt, it is hard to tell how well you are hitting it, but I hit all but one of the greens in the last nine holes. It would have been nice to sink more birdie putts, but I can't complain with even par for the round with two birdies matched with two bogeys.

As for the injuries, the shoulder didn't like it early, but seemed fine for most of the round; let's see how it pulls up. I'm never sure with the pelvis, and it was nowhere near the distance of a full course anyway. Promising though.

    Score: 28-26-54; Par 27-27-54.

I had a shocker with the putter on Saturday - 5 (5!) 3-putts on the front 9 for an 86/77. A bit disappointing after breaking 80 fairly consistently lately

Snap hook city...bogeyed the first 7 to be 11 points at the turn. 16 on the way in for a solid 85 off the stick and 27 points.

    Man this game is frustrating!

    first game after coming back from holiday.... felt good during practice on Thursday night... with stroke round on Saturday; driver was working fine, but struggled with my irons; a few doubles and triples did not help on the first 9. putting was ok but was missing out on a few easy putts for pars on the back 9 once I got my irons in control;

    had a 96/84 round

Stableford today at Maryborough. Course was wet - 70mm overnight is the most rain we have had since June last year. Played off 7 due to playing off the whites.

Not much exciting to report - only hit 2 greens, but saved par on 9 others with some quality up and downs.

First round of the new WHS and I have a day out with 40pts.

Highlight of the day was getting the long drive down 18, then double crossing myself FAR right on the approach landing smack bang on the roof of the proshop and then bouncing off at right angle to finish 2 feet from the hole.

32 points, including 2 3 putts, 2 other holes with 2 footers missed, and 2 other holes that were wiped.

Overall hit it pretty good and finally feel like my game may be headed in the right direction.

Saturday was a day that "could have been"... tried the 900tour for a run, and it was hitting really well... had plenty of chances putts from 2M that seems to just stop next to the holes, with 8 holes missed only. ended with 1 birdie, 4 parr, 10 bogies, 1 double and 1 triple; 34 points off 12.

Sunday played the Royal Freo summer cup, shot gun start on hole 15; perfect drive with 60m to hole; hit 60wedge right at the hole only for it to land short and bounced right and ran right into the pond.... which perfectly summed up my day; the strong wind, hard and fast greens made the day pretty hard... ended the day at -9 on a PAR comp

just need to get my game consistent from day to day

I had a very consistent day on Saturday - 14 5s on my scorecard, but nothing higher than a 5, for an 85 (31 points).

84 off the stick at Thaxted today. Played pretty solid. It was my first round without driver in the bag and scored much better for it.

    14/02/2020, Warrnambool GC, Vic Champs

Struggled off the tee on the front nine, then struggled to get it out of the trees, which was a shame, because I seemed to be hitting irons well. The back nine was better. Too many putts for me too, but I was too often too far out to get up and down.
