Funny that Titleist recommended to Cam Smith that he change the bounce on his lobby from 4* to a higher bounce. There are not many Titty tour pros that have a 4* wedge in their bag. Spieth is the only one I know who does. Doesn't mean that there isn't others who do. Do you know Titty pros other than Spieth who play the 4*?

Maybe Cam is a digger rather than a sweeper, doesn't seem they made the same suggestion to many others, or he doesn't hold it open like the other guys do through impact?

Spieth beat him on Sunday, maybe his bounces were wrong?

Doesn't sound like it if he was recommended to increase his bounce.

Did Vokey write that article? Did it mention uphill or uphill/sidehill lies? Did it mention the nuance's of the various releases associated with bounce? What did you get out of the article?

So people should carry specific wedges for uphill and sidehill lies? Are there no flat lies at Augusta.

What did I get? That Vokey is recommending less bounce at Augusta.

I can't work out if you are a masterful troll or as flexible as a flamingo.

Not many flat lies on that course. The tee is about the only one where the player is guaranteed a flat lie.
Who trolled who here? I think it might have been you.
JC would u recognize good golf advice if u read it? Especially if it conflicted with your golfing concepts?

I think that a broad paintbrush statement saying Spieth needs to change the bounce on his wedges, without knowing anything about Jordan's swing or game on any meaningful level, and without yourself having any tour professional credentials, is bound to be met with some form of scepticism? Correct me if I'm wrong on either account.

Streb and Reed used the same bounce and grind off the top of my head fo starters.

You need to open your mind up and move with the times when it comes to wedges. Expand your knowledge. Not once have you mentioned grind which is just as important if not more so than static bounce. They now profile players to fit them into all sorts of different grinds/bounce or at least to get a headstart fitting. A Cam Smith, Spieth and Scott might all have vastly different needs in their wedges.

Woods was pumping out Masters with 6* bounce on his lobster and that's really not much more than 4*.

I'm at a loss comprehending how anyone could accuse Spieth of usng the wrong bounce on his lob wedge after his performance last year with the same bounce and grind. Not to mention his efforts this year as well.

What were all these holes he came up short on? Even if he did he also lost many shots to the right. Should he get a hook faced or draw biased driver because of a few misses? If he goes higher bounce on the lob what happens on all the downhill wedges he played? He thins them a bit long and then the internet spurts say he has too much bounce on his lob? LOL

No amount of bounce would have saved that dunk on 12. The thing is he just wasn't playing his best this year and he still came pretty close

I still say, the dude just ****ed up. Simple as. Bit of pressure, simple mistake most of us make several times a round. Would have been better for the discussion here if it was a shank.

I think his third shot was worse than a shank. Even his 5th shot was ordinary for the "world's best" short game.
