Bluu I don't think it's overly specific, it just has the lip to go into the rebate in the tip

Nope, just use any ferrule with the same od. Collared ferrules are over rated and annoying.

Not sure if I should start a new thread in equipment, but wanted to hear thoughts to the affects of stiffer mid-section in a golf shaft's EI profile. If a person has an early release- Mizuno DNA 2,4,7,8 would a stiffer mid section fit the swing? Or is it the tip section that needs to be firm for early release?

    Gents,

Can someone please remind me what are the minor differences in all the recent TM tips? I know they're all compatible, but there's some difference in the loft settings that are on the tip...or something, right?
Just asking as I'm picking up an R1 and will be looking for some shaftage for it soon. Cheers, FJ.

I thinks that's right Cap. SLDR and Jetspeed are 1.5° and the R1 is 2° or is it 2.5°?

image.jpgI'd feel like a wanker if I started a new thread on this, sooooo, the pic below is of a shaft with a tip from an Adams XTD driver in my R1 head. The loft markings on this adaptor are different to those on an actual TM R1 adaptor (as we all know). In this setting, is this set at 9.0* loft? I figured the "std loft" setting is 9.5*, but I'm usually wrong about stuff. You blokes would know, so if someone could lend me their awesomeness and let me know that'd be rad. Cheers, FJ.

From memory, std loft on an R1 is 10deg.

STD loft on a R1 is 10* as Benno said.
If that's a 1.5* tip that would most likely be 9.5*, but the R1 came with a 2* changeable tip.

Thanks mate. So, if that's the case, if I set it to "Lower" on the adaptor, which is two notches further away from "Std loft", would that make it 8.5*? Cheers.

3 notches I think, and yes 8.5*, each notch will be .5*, so 8.5* to 11.5*, and upright versions on the other side.

Team, I just glued some iron heads using this: http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp...1002_A_cn_E_33

Will they be right to play at 7am tomorrow? I have them in the puppy room with the heater on.

    Gents,

What's the best white stuff to touch up some paint chip bits on a white TM driver (SLDR) head with? White out? Paint you'd paint the walls of your house with? Art paint? Spit? Cheers, FJ.

So you lent it to your mate and he stuffed it?

I have found its really hard to repair little chips. You will be able to tell no matter what you use.

    You can buy a small pot of matching paint, but it isn't cheap;

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/GPI-Touch-up...item25a77d4996

I reckon if you took the head to a paint or auto shop they should be able to match it for you in a small pot.

Cleaning out the hosel on a driver head and there seems to be no bottom to the hosel. Is this something to be concerned about?

Not really, but you don't want to load it up with too much glue when you re shaft......
Maybe a touch of cotton wool pushed down to catch excess epoxy?

There is generally a small plug at the bottom of the hosel. just empty out any loose items you can hear rattling around in the head, then just put a hosel plug in. You can buy things like this:

    http://www.billybobsgolf.com/product.php?productid=17610

Or just cut or punch a small circle out of aluminium can. It's job is to stop any shafting epoxy running down into the head.

Yes, they make small plastic plugs to cover the hole so the epoxy doesn't drip into the head. I have cut a plastic disk out of milk jug. Slightly glue it in the day before. They use the hole to hot melt the head.
