Titty is right, sounds like a good plan. To get the SW the same, you'd be looking at adding around 16-18g to the head. You have a weight port so you have more options on how you can do it.

I'd give it a hit without the weight added, then add as required. I wouldn't worry about the change to SW based on the grip.

    Cheers,
    Ben

I assume the +1 is +1" over standard length. Is that your personal fitting length? If not, the easiest way to bring the swing weight down is to shorten them back to standard length. Each 1/2" off equal 3 SWs.

yes +1 is for +1" over SL. that is my fitted length, did think of cuttting 1/2 and adding less tape. but is it +4 gr at the grip to reduce by one SW?

    Closer to 5 grams per SW at the Grip end;

    http://advancedballstriking.com/Swing_weights.pdf

A weight in the butt end would be the best solution, 20 grams is a lot of lead tape.

that's what i was thinking, maybe 15 grams of threaded rod or something in the end of the shaft. Ill have to start weighing all the stuff lying around the bench lol
and thank you for that chart much easier that the stuff I was reading.

Yes just got of the phone to him, going with 1/2" cut and 60gr grips should get them to about D3.5

I guess the big negative here is that if your fitting for 1" over was correct you're now playing under the ideal. Makes for a few problems being 1" over lol

You've got a bit of room to move as the head is reasonably heavy. At stock it should be 46" at D6. If you really want to play around with the stock shaft take 1/2" off the butt and try it again doing nothing more. It'll still be around D3 and allows you to keep 1/2" for tipping if needed to hit 45". You'd then be around D0 which is still acceptable to many.

You could also put in a bit heavier shaft you like at 45" if this fails.

Rifle 6.0 steel shafts. Are they considered S, S+ or X? Would they play much softer once extended by 0.5-1"?

    PX 6.0 are 6.5 fcm, S300 are 5.8 fcm.
PX 6.0 is roughly an X100 soft stepped.
An inch longer would make PX 6.0 about the equivalent to a hard stepped S300.

Rifle 6.0 is NOT a Project X though...

On the playability side an S300 would play equivalent to an Rifle 6.0, and also equivalent of PX 5.5 (give or take a smidge).

At 1" over (other than the swingweight being REALLY high) the Rifle 6.0's would play basically the same as a Rifle 5.5 standard length (or similar to a soft stepped S300). Again...give or take a smidge.

Ashes' game isn't tight enough to notice the smidge...unless you're taking about the 6" he hit it past the ladies tee!!!

Trimming instructions for Bimatrix Prototype for use in a 3 & 5 Wood?

I have a couple of these coming for my Nakashima heads.. I have generally read that they should only be butt trimmed but, there are a few threads around on the web that say you can tip trim them.

Anyone have any experience with these shafts for use in fairways&

What length should they be trimmed to for a standard 3 & 5 wood

Has anyone tip trimmed one & what effect did it have on shaft performance.

    Thanks in advance....

Grafalloy website says .5" for 3 wood and 1" for 5 wood.

Did you get the stiff flex or X? Stiff is only a 65g shaft and many would consider that a bit light for fairway woods.

Thanks BITS, I looked on their site previously but, I could have sworn it said not to tip trim the Bimatrix.. clearly I read that wrong

I got the X-flex... partly for the weight (80g) & mostly because I'm playing X in my Tour AD protos in my 909 Fwys... & I love them. Agree, 65g would be too light for my fwys

If I was wanting to add weight to a blade putter I have, wheres the best place for the weight? And if the best place is on the sole, if I was to put 2 weights on the sole would it be as simple as putting them in the same spot on the heel and toe evenly spaced? Cheers

If you are thinking of adding some sort of insert, I would suggest in the heel and toe of the face would be best, as per what Ping do.

You think that would be better than heel and toe on the sole like most scotty Cameron's?

I like the visual effect it gives to the putter when it's in the face. I can send you pics of my Redwood if you want to have a look.

Are you thinking of doing it to the putter you received today??

Ok that would be great bits, yeah I am, I love the look of the putter just feels soo light, my plan was to drill the holes and one of my good mates is a jeweller and can make me tungsten weights to what ever shape/size I need and he can put what ever prints I want on the face of them so they don't just look like regular weights.
I just don't want to do anything that will damage the putter so I was unsure to where to put them.
    Cheers

When I started playing, I had someone look at the lie of my clubs and noticed that I needed 1 degree up, but to get around bending the clubs I went with 1/2" longer which changed the effective loft and got me getting proper contact on the ground.

Is bending your clubs a better option over the extra length ?
