He's no Scott Laycock
The more I read this thread, the more I cheered for Scott Laycock.
5 minutes.
That is 5 minutes of my life I will never get back having spent the time to read about cocks of all kinds. I'll add another 2 mins by adding this.
Sorry Ziggy your brother was acting like a tool. I'm glad it wasn't me that had paid for the privilege to be in the group with a drunken yob belting around in a buggy for company. If I was the pro I wouldn't have wanted to hang around for drinkies afterwards either...PGA Code or not.
Think about it if you are sober do you want to hang around with a drunk?
Cheers

He wasn't the only one in the group that was drinking 2 other players were, and i was not one of them.
If a guy is that paraletic that he rolls a cart (he bought a slab of Jack cans), he has no place being involved in a pro am.
He barely has any place being there for a social round.
Forum needs more banter.
So he may have been fine to hang around with you, but it sounds like he would have preferred to avoid the drunken mob altogether, which unfortunately for you, meant fleeing the scene.
I played in a pro-am a couple years back where the other two guys in our group spent half of their rounds on the phone. It got to the point where we actually finished the 9th hole and moved on to 10 with them still standing at the 150 markers waiting to hit in.
I explained to them once they caught us that our pro was trying to make a living and that they should show some respect. Their improved their behaviour a bit on the back nine, but by the end, our pro wouldn't even give them the time of day. He had no problem staying and having a few drinks with me though, as I had no intenetions on having drinks with the phone crew either.
Well that sort of answers things doesn't it. Your bro was pissed, the other 2 were drinking and maybe more receptive to his behaviour. The pro was sober?
Zig if you look at this from outside your family circle you might actually conclude that your brother's behaviour is actually what caused you to have a bad experience.
By your description of events if I had been in the group I'd have asked you brother to leave. Not picking on him or you, but its a golf course not a backyard bbq. Nothing wrong with having a couple of beta blockers in a social day but getting legless with a carton of JD's is pretty poor form.

I'm only 1/2 way though all this.....so far though THREAD OF THE YEAR!!!!
What a mob of co(kheads.
I'm back.
cockhead!
I'm back.
The hardest thing to swallow about this thread i think is that for a change most of us have to agre with scottt as much as it hurts to say that. God I will hate myself in the morning for saying that. Think even dc68 is agreeing with scottt lol
There's having fun and there's going overbord....Your brother went overbord simple.....
If they were just a little drunk and trying to have a little fun and " Scott " didnt want to have a bar of it then he does need to lighten up abit,,,,,but rolling a friggin golf cart,,,,that shit is pretty bad, and embarrissing and most likely off putting for a pro.
The cart didn't actually roll, just the esky slid off and cans and ice went everywhere.
As Chopper Read says, "natural selection aint working."
were quoting chopper read now are we lol
My 2c,
if I was playing a round of golf (pro am or otherwise) and my group was accompanied by a non-player (who I didn't know) who chose to sink a slab of UDLs and cause general ruckus, I would be pissed off too. Even non-golfers need to show some class & etiquette when on a golf course.
Yes, but you're a sensitive count though.
So he was a dickhead on the day get over it ya Dicks
