Good luck with the Sand Trap PG. Iacas is a classic cash for comments guy. When I was frequenting that site a couple of years ago, he would fry anyone who criticised Titleist b/c he had a sponsorship deal going with them.

Haven't tackled downloading the vid PG but I did the ball drop exercise. Hit the ball everytime but I was definitely inside the line by about half a ball width on a typical set-up. Needed to scoot the bum out a fraction more to hit dead centre.

Managed about 15 minutes on level one at about 4'+boom. Felt like I was back to square one hahaha! I will keep at it for the next couple of nights and see how things go.

L1 is a real tickler alright. You'll be pleased to get back on L5, that's for sure. Alternate the two and see if it helps you not charging those short ones.

Played on the weekend and probably had my best day out with the putter for a while. I will compile the stats for this month and get back to you today(ish)

    Last 4 rounds:
    Date - GIR - Putts - Ave
    28-May - 2 - 4 - 2.00
    29-May - 8 - 17 - 2.13
    19-Jun - 6 - 12 - 2.00
    26-Jun - 3 - 6 -2.00
    TotalS - 19 - 39 - 2.05

Compared to 2.21 when I started with the boomerang

The best part of the stats for me is that I have gone from between 35 and 40 putts per round to 31/32 putts per round

I only had 1 x 3 putt all day and that was when I had a 20' putt and left myself with a slippery side slope from 4' that lipped out and had 2' to come back. I only had 4 putts in the 3-5' range as my long putts generally left me with less than 2'.

    I had 5 x 1 putts that I sank, ranging from 4' to about 15'
I had 8 putts where I had 1' or less for the 2nd putt as my long putts were really close all day.

The 15ft-er must have been very satisfying. Distance control sounds very good. Just need some more green time to sharpen up the reads.

Too true ... but where do I get that time and still work, spend time with kids, spend time with wife, play tennis, play basketball, go indoor rock climbing, practice golf ... ohh ... and sleep?

By the way the 15 footer was for Par on the 18th ... very satisfying for it to drop

I must say that for the first time in quite a while I feel pretty confident of getting close with my putting. The lengthening of the back swing and acceleration through the ball is providing me with a much smoother, repeatable stroke.

I just need to make sure that I keep up practice with the boom each week.

Ian, I hope you'll find your BoomTech very low maintenance. Not quite in the "like riding a bike" category, but not far away.

OK, last day of the month. How do we pick a winner? We seem to have lost a few along the way.

I think it would have to be Ian.

I have gone from a bit over 2ppgir to less but still just over 2ppgir.

My average putts per round is pretty much the same too. The confidence over the long lags is much improved though! I am working on the middle distances, which are my bane, now. Playing more than three rounds during the experiment may have helped too as two of the rounds i was a spastic and had 12 and 26 points respectively.

MM is still something that is not entirely natural feeling but the distance control is hard to argue against so I will contine to practice with it. The claw/paintbrush I can't see myself using. It's great for locking things up tight but it compromises my feel too much. I will have to try it on a real putting green a few times to rule it out properly but I don't feel comfortable with it.

I agree with Pieface ... I wasn't able to get the "craw" feeling at all comfortable but am pretty happy with my results with my standard grip.

I did about 30 min yesterday on the boom. I have set the cup up really difficult (about 3 lines tighter) and I literally have to have the ball drop over the edge to stay there and I still manage to get about 25% of the putts to stay. I tend to do putts in sets of between 10 and 20 throughout the day and change the distance along the mat that I putt from each set. (Note: I work from home 3 or 4 days per week so set-up the boom in the hallway outside my office in the morning and put it away before the wife comes home from work.)

My best C&R is still 3 but have had a couple of times where I have had 3 then 2 misses then 3, so I am pretty happy.

A good few of you in the same boat with time restrictions. I also reckon Ian stands out though. Perhaps what we could do is award the putter this month, then continue on another month with the incentive being an instructor's cap for anyone who manages to get BoomTech over that time. We can have multiple "winners" that way. What do you think?

Pieface ... wasn't agreeing that I should win , but that the "CRAW" grip doesn't feel right for me
