    Default 2022 PGA Tour

Good start to the year with Cam Smith holding off the number one, Rahm, over the final two rounds at Kapalua, Hawaii. The top three players had the lowest ever scores in tour history.

Great play from Cam Smith and Matt Jones too with a finishing 61 to finish outright 3rd.

That’s what happens when you put the pro’s on a resort course. Open fairways and receptive greens.

Has he moved to the PGA Tour for 2022?

La Quinta this week - how much green paint is used on the dormant fairways, or it is an amazing oversewing job?

Good to see Jason Day in the field and with one of the better scores for the day on the NT course.

I really hope he can overcome whatever his personal demons are, because he has the ability to be Australia's greatest ever major winner. He bombs it off the tee, hits towering iron shots and is one of best in terms of short game / putting going around. But, unless things change, it looks likely he will remain level with Wayne and the Elk having won the PGA alone.

As well as being World #1 for near enough a year, 12 time PGA Tour winner, and $50m in prizemoney. Can't fault his career to be honest.

However, both him and AS could/should and in slightly different circumstances, would have won more than one major if balls had bounced different ways.

I think by now there’s enough evidence to suggest he does not have the ability to be Australia’s greatest ever major winner.

It looks like that 12/18 months is the outlier. That’s as good as he could be and it was only ever going to be relatively short lived. That’s not the “average” level of his ability.

It was a pretty good run for 2015-2016 - 38 of 40 cuts made, 17.5m in earnings, a major and 7 other tour wins.

Charley Hoffman displaying all the self awareness of The Shark has a crack at the PGATour. Picked a funny week to fire indiscriminately given he's sponsored by WM, additionally if he thought there were problems, he perhaps could have addressed it via the PAC (Players Advisory Committee) given he's on the board.

    Totally agree Mick.

Brandel Chamblee wrote a good article about Phil and some of his claims.

You left out money hungry which is amazing given how much he's earned playing the PGATOUR.

You would think that one of the few groups worried that he won't play on the PGATOUR (and Champions Tour) are tournament sponsors, not sure the players will give a rats.

The Brandel Chamblee article above blew a lot (if not all) of Phil's claims apart.

“Who’s left. Who’s left to go?” McIlroy said, and the numbers supported him. None of the top 12 players in the world ranking has indicated any interest.

“Greg Norman would have to tee it up to fill the field,” McIlroy said. “I mean, seriously, who else is going to do it? I don’t think they could get 48 guys.”
