Myself. Do you have to be currently on the TV to be sorely missed? Or just remembering the legend that he was?

Not at all but other than for those who had personal relationships with him, he’s been missing/missed for 2 decades.

    Yeah ok.

How is Murray Walker’s effect on your life any different today compared to a year ago?

About the same as anybody who posts a death in this thread.
And yes, I did meet the man very briefly at an Adelaide Grand Prix.

    Indeed.

However some are more relevant in terms of the time elapsed from the work for which we know them.

Bruce McAvaney, while not dead, will be missed from the footy but nobody’s heartbroken Mike Williamson won’t be heard this year.

    OK. You have your thoughts.
Whilst you think Bruce will be missed, I won't.
Mike Williamson. Never heard of him.

FFS Mick. As long as they’re not writing it off as a business expense why do you care if somebody misses another person? FWIW I won’t miss Bruce, although I also wouldn’t miss AFL if it disappeared overnight either.

That’s what made me think of him, he’s joined our Supercoach chat in Telegram. I hope he enjoys bad puns.

If someone from the SA who isn't a Chappell passes I probably won't know who they are.

I’d like to think he and Artie are on day two of their reunion bender, propping up the corner of the pearly gates public bar, necking schooners, smoking darts and getting served endless complimentary rounds of party pies. And occasionally punching on.
