Pretty harsh reading about the fallout with his parents and sister, his mum seems quite upset about it

Was asked about it during the press conference, for about 10 seconds you could cut the air with a knife it was so quiet and hostile, although he did shrug it off well without any emotion

Personally, I don't give two hoots about his/any athletes off course matters. As far as I'm concerned, that's all their personal issue and people just like being on their moral high horse.

Fantastic win and under pressure as well.

To win by having to par the 18th is great. No fluke to it. Deserved win.

I would have birdied 18 if there was an opportunity to break your little heart.

Funny how few posts on here since the result. Would of been very active if Ricky had of won, me thinks.

Maybe, maybe not. I've been waiting for Jim to return as I thought he said he'd backed Patrick. Maybe he's been pissed on his winnings for 3 days?

Probably. Understandable though. If Shooter McGavin actually wins the championship it kind of spoils the movie.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

I don't know, doesn't golf need a "bad boy"? Most sports have one. Bubba does a pretty poor job of it, more sulky than bad ass. And Tiger can't do both! I somehow feel inspired to wear my Azalea shirt!

I did place a wager on Patrick. But I had no confidence in him, so it was only a small one, and it only just covered my losses on other bets.

All my other horses made the cut, but were out of contention for top 10 unless a last round miracle took place. Paul Casey delivered that miracle, and was equal 6th with two holes to play. Then he bogeyed the last two, and fell out of the top 10. The agony of golf betting.

I've never understood how people can generate what appears to be genuine hatred for people they have never met. We all have our favourites to cheer for, but to go postal on players and their wives is a puzzle to me.

I have always liked Patrick's swing and the way he plays, and I believe he deserves a major on his resume. He probably isn't quite a top 5 player, though. I imagine he wishes he never said that.

The US Open should be really interesting.

I disagree with the comparison completely. Tiger and DJ’s ‘transgressions’ are wildly different from Patrick “Sticky-Fingers” Reed.

You're not a proper gambler. You should have been in the tips thread talking up your win, particularly after the event. There's no need to talk about losses.

Perhaps not hatred Jim but I have a genuine dislike for these two even though I have never met them

So it's ok for you to judge people that you have never met yet not ok for others to do likewise?

Agreed. Overton, Bubba, Reed, Keegan. All tarred with the same stink.

Fatrick is unpopular as an individual player compared to Spieth, Fowler and the likes, but majority of the same people can't get enough of him when wearing the Star and Stripes.

Personally, he doesn't do it for me.

He's counting his millions and probably doesn't really care what us bunch of choppers think. As long as the PGA Tour ticks over there'll always be someones perceived villain, although I guess social media/media coverage makes that more possible than ever before.

Not a fan of the big Spoof either.

More relating to the Yank fans on the 18th cheering for everyone but Reed gets a mild welcome. Just find it funny that they can like him when he is winning in American colours.
