Monthly Mug Profile - September 2013 - Rubin
Username: Rubin
Home club: Don’t really have one – but PGN?
How often do you play: As often as possible. Recently that’s been averaging to around twice a month
Current handicap: 15.9
Lowest ever handicap: 15.9
Dream handicap: +5/+6. Never going to happen though.
How long have you played golf: On and off since I was about 10. Back into it properly since around ‘09/10. Started hitting a ball when I was 5 or 6.
How did you catch the golfing bug: My Grandad – used to take me down to the local park, and had made up a little junior kit for me when I was a little kid. It was a 3i, 7i, pw and a putter.
What's currently in your bag:
Driver: Callaway X-Hot pro 8.5 (open) with Accra SE80 M5
3wd: Mizzy MP series 15* with Nunchuk.
Hybrid: Adams a12 pro with KBS black steel x (2i shaft)
Irons: Callaway ’13 X-Forged
Wedges: Mizzy MPR 12 52, 56, 60.
Putter: Odessey Versa #7
What golf ball do you use: TM Lethal – try and stick to #5’s, but whatever comes out of the sleeve.
Dream golfing purchase: My own course.
Favourite golf course played: Played – Binningup, Walked – Royal Melbourne Composite
Dream golf destination, or trip: Like most people, Augusta would be it for me.
If you could pick three others, dead or alive, to play a round with, who would they be:
Bobby Jones, Morgan Freeman (I don’t know if the man plays golf, but he’d be bloody interesting to talk to), my Grandad who gave me the junior clubs.
If you could pick three ozgolfers to play a round with, who would they be:
Probably go with a random pick from the hat. Haven’t had a hit with too many OzGolfers when I didn’t enjoy the company (the golf is normally a different story)
Your favourite golf memory: The one that stands out was a few years ago at WA Champs, we were playing binningup at around dusk. Standing on the fourth tee and just enjoying the view – unfortunately, it was at this moment Tourfit started talking……
Have you ever had a hole in one? If yes, talk us through it:. No – GGF.
Have you ever had a “Solarman moment”? If yes, talk us through it: Plenty – although I highly doubt this is an act solarman is capable of, but two spring to mind.
First – creating a ‘lovely’ glass feature at The Cut a few years ago. Literally embedding a ball in a window of a house.
Secondly, a few years back again, the infamous Church incident at Secret Harbour.
Favourite current tour player: Adam Scott/Luke Donald.
Favourite golfer past or present? Why: Bobby Jones. I’ve read so much about him and golf at the time, and would have loved to be able to have a hit with him.
Favourite Australian golfer: Adam Scott.

Yep, you needed to post it publicly instead of via PM.

And I will.
My response to that post would probably give me a 2 week holiday, needless to say that yes, I found it offensive on a number of levels.
