Default Gold Creek Mon 8th June

I'll be in Canberra for the long weekend with the missus and I've been allowed leave to play golf on Monday 8th June. The venue is likely to be Gold Creek and we're aiming for a tee time around 9:30-10 so we can play in the comp.

Today was an awesome day and (i assume) enjoyed very much by all.

Twas good to meet the fellas from here and i hope to do it again. I played crap but sunk a couple of putts and made a birdie here and there.

P.S I neither support nor wish to be called PuppetMaster.

Thanks for the day Grunt really enjoyed your company; in fact I haven't struck an Ozgolfer yet whose company I didn't enjoy. Learn't something today...Cobra drivers with whippy shafts might be my cup of tea.

Thanks for the game guys. I had a ball. It was great to play with two good players (SMS and PM). They had a bet off the stick and Junior was leading by two until the 17th. After SMS birdied the hole and PM 3 putted for a bogie, it was all square teeing off the last. 2 solid GIR pars made it a tie. Great to watch. I was suffering in the cold but SMS's bottle of Stones kept it bearable.

After the game, we went to an old English bar for a few drinks. Scottt might be happy to know that some of our discussion involved the "Ozgolf's dickhead of the year"

Raz gave me some handy tips which I will put to practice. It was good to meet TG even though he didn't play.

    Hey it wasn't a 3 putt.

I 2 putted from 12 feet after i did a fairly decent chip. And i missed the green cause i had a shit of a lie for my 2nd shot.

So to be honest i should be the true owner of that $10 bill shaun.

Just saw the photo with the bottle of stones, classic winter golf.

Where I grew up it was a mandatory addition to the winter golf bag, one i have passed on to my playing partners as i have moved clubs.

Sure gets the warm buzz in you at a 7.00 tee off in the frost

Stones is also handy when you have warm beer in summer, a nip or two in a warm stubby makes the beer comfortable enough to drink while you wait for the rest to cool down.

Stones should only be drunk neat from the bottle, which must also be wrapped in a brown paper bag.

    Obsession is flattery, little fella.

And might I say, with two tons and a 90-odd to your name from the last three games of yours I'm aware of, perhaps you should duck out and work on that thing you're calling a golf swing.

Brown paper bags usually don't last 5 years. I was stunned that it was still drinkable.
    Forum needs more banter.

If that's the case, then all that played yesterday, and at least a "few" more on this forum, must have the same obsession.

Touche, Jono, now if you'd only actually met me...

I truly can't fathom just how pathetic it is - a grown man sitting at the pub talking about how much of a dickhead a bloke he has never met appears to be based on some banter on an internet forum.

At least Grunt or TG, if they were involved in this gripping discussion, have met me...

Good luck rebuilding the golf swing.

Mate, I didn't start the dickhead discussion yesterday. You seem to bring it upon yourself.

    Good luck rebuilding your personality.

They can, Andy. There's a few guys here I will quible with over what they post, but I wouldn't pretend to know what they are like in person. Sometimes they are just how you imagined, sometimes they aren't.

I missed this post. This is almost too funny.

I invite those who played to PM me and tell me why I am a dickhead. I haven't met three of the four who played, and one of those three I chat pretty freely with off the forum. But fire away Jono and Co (if indeed Jono is telling the truth... and I have my doubts). Give me something to spend the afternoon stressing over. Forget Scottt, what is it about Scott W that you don't like?

Surely after some 4,900 posts it is safe to assume that at least some of your "real" personality has come out, is it not Scottt (Or is that Scott W )
