So a Spider didn't win it, but one of these did...
Champ could've celebrated a bit better than this...?
Celebrating with his sponsor. Better than drinking XXXX
Just watching the final round now and gee Brooks played solid. Fleetwood hit it the best I'd say he ever has for the first 3 days, left handed Ricky Ponting missed more fairways than he ever has the final round which is a shame for him but full congrats to Brooks
The more I look at Koepka the more he looks like Jason Dufner's after shot if he went on a 12 week boot camp.
I just saw Brooks's WITB. Every manufacturer will be happy except Callaway and Ping (and technically Srixon, but Matsuyama is a Srixon guy).
I thought it was a great event, even though from one point of view I dislike the course.
Erin Hills had all the worst features of Peter Thomson and Graham Marsh design. It pretended to be links style, but it was actually target golf. It would be impossible for most normal amateurs to play. Every green was perched on top of a hill, with impossible bunkers and other drop-offs to penalise the shot slightly off line. Even from forward tees, we'd struggle to break 100, and we'd take 6 hours with all the chipping and putting we'd be doing. Watching the event didn't make me want to go and play a game there.
But for the pro's, it was an excellent venue. I really liked the way the course changed depending on the tee positions and pin positions. 15 was the easiest hole on Saturday and the hardest Sunday. There has been some criticism from old fogeys claiming the course was too easy and not a true US Open style test. I think that is absurd. The best player won, the good players were at the top of the leader board, and the guys who failed the test missed the cut. That's what I want from a major.
I hope they go back there.

Hi Jimandr,
I agree that the criticism regarding the course being 'not tough enough' was total bullocks, and also concur that for a hacker it would not be fun course to score a card on.
The course was very undulating and reminded me a fair bit of St Andrews Beach on the Mornington Peninsula, only with larger greens. I feel it is a good US Open venue and hope it returns in the next decade
Like Barny, the greens don't have to play at 13' for green fee players!
Bet the rough is slashed relatively soon! Peak green fee time atm!

From what I've read the general public rate it highly as a pay for play course. Not too difficult, lots of fun, really scenic.
I loved it, shame it rained but thems the breaks.
I agree. Looked like a fun venue. I'd love to try and tackle it.
The other point is, the 'too easy' line is moot. After 54 holes at Oakmont (renowned toughest in America) in 2016 Lowry had a score of 203 (-7) and this year Harman had a score of 204 (-12).
Koepka was the best player and deserved to be the winner, it was a good test of golf. Maybe not a test of 'hack it out torture' like the yanks seems to pride themselves on but it was a test of nearly all facets of the game. The fact that you had a big hitter and a average to short hitter competing on Sunday is testament to that.
I thought the course looked great and it did look like a lot of fun to play. I'd like to have a crack at it but definitely not from the big boys tees. I didn't think it was like a US Open though. It felt more like a normal USPGA event from a scoring point of view. I tend to like the brutal nature of the US Open courses so felt that was missing for me this year but it was still a great tourney and Koepka definitely deserved the win. Looked like he did it easily.
Think the weather n in particular the rain really dumbed it down from how they wanted it to be
