I'm calling this the battle of the bulge (named after Tomson's eyes when he finds out what my handicap will be for this match ). Either that or his head will explode.
Cairns GC - Saturday morning - stroke round.
Predictions?

Anyone need a pair of cement Footjoys? I know some people.
Golf will be the winner and Tom for Prez.
Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
Have the polls opened yet?

If you start out depressed everything’s kind of a pleasant surprise.

Wrong.
Fail.
Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
This also proved to be accurate.
It was a cracking match in the end, quite the see-saw battle. Tom started well and had the early lead, but I took advantage of a few of the shot holes & finished the 9 in front by 2. I peaked at 3 up after 11, then lost them over the next 3 straight holes starting with Tom's (bladed) chip-in eagle on the 12th. All square again after 16, then I stiffed my tee shot on 17 to make my second NTP birdie & win so we headed to 18 with me up by 1. Tom hit the 18th in 2 (par 5) and almost gave it away when his eagle putt rolled 4 or 5 feet past. Luckily he made the bird for the win (against my par). Kinda fitting really, as we both had nett 70 in the comp.
