Hit this one a little while ago, wind and slope assisted but pretty happy with it. Unfortunately duffed the pitch but still made par at least

Down hill and down wind ...
For those that know Armidale, it is quite hilly, and the 8th plays WAY down hill. When it is dry, with wind behind, 300 metre drives are not uncommon. Playing length is 415 metres, but is rarely more than a good drive and 7-iron. In contrast, the ninth is back up hill and is a 423 metre par 5 that requires two decent hits to get home for two if you are back into the wind.

This one was a "I've never been here before" drive. The tee on 17 was forward which invites you to go down the 18th fairway instead of the tight 17th. I took that option but started a little left than ideal. The ball went long enough to go up the 18th and then roll back across to the right rough of the 17th. From the back tees, I'd usually have a 5 iron in, or a 7 iron when forward.
I always thought the Great Ocean road to Port Ferry was a great drive!
