Crikey Andy..... that's a bit serious!!
Not really. I have done the same for a social round.
I don't like playing a course blind if I don't have to.
Now I know when there is a hidden creek running across the hole.

I emailed the club about 2 weeks ago and asked if a yardage book was available.
I haven't received a reply so I took that as a no.

It's more likely that they don't check the email.
Some golf clubs seem to want an online presence but don't really provide the support there.

Guys, both courses have measurements on sprinkler heads. A word of caution about the distance pegs which on most courses are 100m & 150m. The last time I played there 5 months ago, CTH still had them at imperial measurements. That is, the furtherest distance peg is actually 150 yards which is about 135 m.
Watch out for that one.
Also, keep your ball on the fairway. The West course is a little more open than the River course but still has some tight places and hidden lateral hazards.
I hope the wind stays calm. When the wind blows, the River course especially plays tough.

Hi Davidp,
Markers on sprinker heads are in "m" and the distance pegs are in "yards".
Is that correct?

Yep, that's correct. Just check out the card when you get it from the pro shop. It will confirm the distance pegs for you. I don't know why they didn't move the distance markers when everything went metric. It's just one of the quaint things about the course.

What you call "quaint", I call "stupid". Why would they not move them? Laziness? Why should we have to learn a conversion rate to play this course?

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

I was being polite. A rough rule for converting yards to metres is take 10% off the yards, and get metres. eg 150 yards = 135 metres. 100 yards = 90 metres, 569 yards = 512.10 metres.
blakey, most of the course was built prior to 1969. Some mods since then such as the 18th of the River course was shortened and moved away from the river.
