I will always love Justin Rose's reaction to holing his putt on the 17th against Phil.

Just realised though that instead of couch potatoing on Mon morning I'll be hacking it at Cabra. Ah, well...

Europe won at Celtic Manor, retained at Medinah and smashed the US at Gleneagles.

That was the match that turned 2012 at Medinah, watched it again this morning. Wish the champion Gooner Poults was there to stick it up the Seppos.

Should have made him a VC, would have been invaluable

Yep. Medinah was an amazing Ryder Cup. Shame Poulter has been off his game so much in recent seasons. They picked him as a captain's pick (from memory) two years ago and he had a really bad Ryder Cup. Johnny Miller is calling the European team weak, and yes they have a lot of rookies, but I still put them as the favourites to win again. Don't know what Davis Love is smoking to claim he's got one of the best team's ever. The only big danger in the US team is DJ...and maybe Patrick Reed. Europe has Rory, Rosie and Stenson (assuming he's fully fit by now) who are pretty hot of late, and Kaymer played two solid tournaments in the last few weeks as well. I think this Ryder Cup will be closer than Gleneagles, but I still see Europe winning again.

Peter Willett with a monumental broadside at the US

    http://www.news.com.au/sport/sports-...1988091f943dd7

“For the Americans to stand a chance of winning, they need their baying mob of imbeciles to caress their egos every step of the way.
“Team Europe needs to shut those groupies up.
“They need to silence the pudgy, basement-dwelling, irritants, stuffed on cookie dough and p**** beer, pausing between mouthfuls of hotdog so they can scream ‘Baba booey’ until their jelly faces turn red.
“They need to stun the angry, unwashed, Make America Great Again swarm, desperately gripping their concealed-carry compensators and belting out a mini- erection inducing ‘mashed potato,’ hoping to impress their cousin.
“They need to smash the obnoxious dads, with their shiny teeth, Lego man hair, medicated ex-wives, and resentful children. Squeezed into their cargo shorts and boating shoes, they’ll bellow ‘get in the hole’ whilst high-fiving all the other members of the Dentists’ Big Game Hunt Society.

“Team Europe need to silence these cretins quickly.
“If these things happen, Europe will win, and I’ll try to support gracefully by embracing the same sense of fair-mindedness that has permeated this unbiased article. If not, the Americans will claim their second victory this century ... those fat, stupid, greedy, classless, bastards.”

Seppos on twitter clearly don't see the the tongue in cheek. They're not happy.

I do love reading golf stories, especially at the pointy end of the season; however, I am flat out sick of hearing about Bubba Watson. No idea why he is the 6th assistant Captain of their team, I assume it is because he would've caused rain delays with his tears if not picked for something...

So he can lead them all in prayer at the beginning of each day

Keen readers will note that I have moved this thread into Tour Talk. This may help some of us be less confused by seeing discussion about the Ryder Cup in two separate places.

Regarding the Cup itself, I'll be a naysayer.

There are a few reasons why I don't like it. Foremost are the crowds, particularly in the US, but it is the same in the UK. The patriotic cheering is way over the top. Some people forget it is a golf event.

I also don't enjoy the TV coverage. It is hard to follow all the matches on TV when things are happening at the same time in many different matches.

I'll still watch it all, though.

Want to throw up when I read all the Euro team distancing themselves from those comments. It's pretty accurate discription of what they would all feel.

i dont get it, the website says it starts on the 27, and its now the 28th (in USA).
when does it start in our time?

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

    Saturday morning our time Mark.
The celebrity day was the start of it all on 27/9 US time.
