Hi guys, how do you go about adjusting loft/lie on irons that have a really long hosel and ferrule? I just put a friend's SW in my matlby, and the loft/lie measure is not sitting flush on the shaft (like it normally should).
Short of removing the ferrule, any other suggestions or tips?
Thanks guys.
Rather than remove the ferrule, can you run some boiling water over it and slide it up the shaft enough for it to be out of the way, then re-glue it in place?
Anyone ever had club work done with Limitless Golf here in Sydney?
Thinking about getting some irons re-shafted, looking for any feedback/experience.
Never heard from anyone…if you’re out that way I’d go here…..

Where are you based Jerry?
Mixed experience from me with Limitless, once I ordered a 4 iron taper shaft and he sent me a 3 iron shaft.
He tried to convince me they were so similar that I wouldn’t know the difference so he could avoid a return.
Greg Bayley from SGT is a great operator so I recommend him too.
Dean knows his stuff, would be worth contacting him Jerry if FF is not too far away from you

Wanted to work on some old irons i have sitting around. Im thinking to reshafting them (never done it before). I found AU Golf on ebay selling a sort of epoxy. Any recommendation which one I should get for reshafting iron? Do I need the beads?
Thanks
I use 24 hour araldite from bunnings. Didn't use beads.
Anyone able to point me in the direction of a good quality club maker in NW / Western Sydney. Used to use Golfdoctor but he's relocated back to NZ
Bramptons Pro Fix is pretty widely available on eBay locally - both the Long Cure (24hr which is preferred for general work) or the 15 min. Yes more expensive than Bunnings Araldite but comes is useful and reseable bottles that last well if stored properly.
Beads are generally optional depending the shaft and head.
I'm interested in trying out a higher end aftermarket putter shaft.
Any recommendations that is suitable for a single bend? The only one I have come across is the BGT Stability shaft.
Dave.... what would be the effects roughly on MOI for irons that are currently ~2665 if head weight increases by 1 gram.
And next question, what if we drop 1/2" from shaft length.

I gather you have moved on, but for the sake of answering your original ponder;
Based on my data over many sets of irons builds;
1 gram = approximately +/-0.5 SW or 14 MOI points (kg/cm2)
1"= Approximately 150/160 MOI points (kg/cm2) Shaft weight and construction is the main variable
+/-1" in length is approximately equal to 11.5 grams of head weight.
Edit: Tom Wishon said that the average golfer would only notice a movement of more than 1% of MOI. I have found the average set of "standard length" Male irons measure around 2600 to 2800 kg/cm2. A set is normally progressively weighted so the longest iron is the highest, the PW the lowest. So that would suggest 2 grams or more, or 1/4" or more is needed to make a noticeable difference. I try to keep within a 1/2% tolerance with my builds. When I am doing a few it becomes very instinctive, and I get them right first go most of the time.

Thanks Dave. Its given me options to consider.1 gram = approximately +/-0.5 SW or 14 MOI points (kg/cm2)
I have just bought 2 new heads to replace 8 and 9 iron, as they are a bit scruffy now. As it turns out these are already the highest MOI in my set by roughly so another gram will make the MOI range from high to low over 40 thats too much for fussy me
I am also toying with the idea, of dropping 1/2" off all my irons, which means would have to add weight to all heads anyway. But thats a lot of work too.
I have found adjusting length is the easiest way to adjust MOI within a set. 40 points is about 1/4" versus 3grams of weight. It is easy to add weight, much harder to remove it. The golden rule though is to measure twice, cut once. Or be conservative and cut smaller measures i.e. sneak up on it. But you really need access to an MOI Analyser to do that!
Does anyone have a source for a replacement armlock putter shaft? I have used one of the shafts below, it works fine but feels a bit more flexible than I'd like.
