    Default Songs of your youth

What 10 songs take you immediately to a time and place in your youth?

I'm still amazed that whenever one of these, and others, songs comes on now, I can remember vividly the time when I was listening to it as a teen, either generally that age, or a very specific time and place. Love that about music.

    1. When I Come Around - Green Day
    2. Dammit - Blink 182
    3. Come Out And Play - The Offspring
    4. My Name Is... - Eminem
    5. Virtual Insanity - Jamiroquai
    6. Anyone Can Play Guitar - Radiohead
    7. Writing To Reach You - Travis
    8. Honey - Moby
    9. Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2
    10. Lightening Crashes - Live

What About Me - Moving Pictures
    Shuddupayaface - Joe Dolcie
I Was Made for Loving You - Kiss
Crunchy Granola Suit - Neil Diamond
Damn It Jannet - Rocky Horror Picture Show

This is all a pre-teen list for me!! Takes me back a long way this stuff. In some cases to specific friendships etc. A lot of it also used to wake me up on a Saturday morning when my parents were blasting the stuff out early! That would continue way through into my teens.

Songs of youth? I'll take that as song that meant something to me before I turned 25...

Faith No More - Gentle art of making enemies
    The Prodigy - Voodoo People
Green Day - longview (?) - when masturbations lost its fun, your f**king lazy
Rage Against the Machine - the entire debut album
Genesis - Invisible touch - my dads favourite album of all time, so I heard it approx 3 trillion times in the car going down the coast every weekend. If I ever hear it again its too soon.
    Jeff Buckley - last goodbye
Grinspoon - More than you are

I think Wuthering Heights has one of the most under-rated guitar solos in pop history.

Is there a sexier guitar riff than Everyone's a Winner?

I should have had Invisible Touch on my list. The first album I bought with my own money.

went back and had a listen of Wuthering Heights and agree that the guitar work is not well known. Its not quite in the fret wanking category of Yngwie Malmsteen but definitley under rated.

Mine go back to the better childhood memories, the favourite time of my childhood. Say about 5 to 8 years old I guess.

Underrated song totally! Plenty of time for Kate Bush. Babooshka was an awesome filmclip when I was a kid!! Pat Benatar also did a good cover of Wuthering Heights, but not quite Kate.

    Jack,

I'm not sure that songs which were playing while you were in your 30's conut as part of your youth. Neil Sedaka, Liberace or Pat Boone would be more likely for your vintage.
