Quality choke from Thompson this morning. 5 shots up halfway through the last round, but doesn't even make the playoff.

Her par putts on 17 & 18 were woeful especially 18 where she didn't even get it to the hole.
Great to see the cheating moll take the gas!
It all started from the chunked chip that didn't even make it to the green.
Rich Lerner said she had "wilted on the back 9" (or something similar) and was forced to correct himself and changed that to buckled.
I'm sure he was thinking choked.
I've just finished watching the full replay. You'd think the player used to the spotlight and with tons of experience would be able to handle the pressure, but she didn't.
It wasn't even bad luck, just bad play. I'm always impressed though, by players claiming they hit a well-struck shot when the ball comes up well short. She did it on 17 and 18. She hits those 2 greens, and she wins.
Great event though. More and more, I'm thinking women's golf on great and challenging courses is better to watch than men's golf on the same type of courses.

She’s ranked 76th in the 2021 putting stats with an average of 30.39 putts per round so it’s not a surprise he struggled under the pressure.
She doesn’t look comfortable over the ball compared to great putters like Stricker and Faxon.
She was marking tap-ins every time.

Lee6 blows a 5 shot lead to head into a playoff. A skinny slice into the water hands Minjee her first major.
If only the number was 6, unlucky for some

Awesome effort by Minjee Lee, go you good thing.
Now we have two major winners headed to Tokyo.
All the best to Hannah and Minjee at the Olympics.
The LPGA has now completeds about 2/3 of its 2021.

I quite enjoyed the coverage of the Ladies Open from Carnoustie.
I am watching with a sense of some regret though. If not for Covid, I could have been there watching in person. Carnoustie appears to be a great spectator location, with a train station right at the course. They are playing at Muirfield in 22, which appears to be a much harder place to get to by public transport. So I might wait until 23, when they are playing at St Andrews. I'm still thinking the best option to see an event on a classic links is by seeing the women. The men's open at St Andrews in 22 will be a circus, I suspect, assuming full crowds are back by then.

I went to Muirfield back in 2013 - was very easy to get to. If you are staying in Edinburgh, it was a train from Edinburgh Waverley and then straight onto a bus and a short walk to the course.
St Andrews is possibly the worst of the rota courses to spectate as there is only limited viewing from between the holes, most spectating done around the perimeter

Is Amanda Ballionis going to do this for all 4 days ?
Anyone watching the Solheim Cup? Inverness always gives me bad memories after Norman missed a number of short putts to throw away a PGA major

I watched for a while, and I will keep watching.
The fortunes of the first group on the opening holes was interesting. Both teams chopped their way up the first to square the hole in bogey, then they squared the second with eagle each!
What did Amanda Balionis do? I didn't see her while I was watching.

She was the cringey first tee announcer.
