Australian Masters Outcome
Just my opinion but I was gunning for Marcus Fraser to win and as we all know he lost in the playoff to Rodney Pampling. Both are great golfers and flushers of the ball but it would of been nice to have a guy win it who needs more exposure and a kick along with his golf pro career. Having a look at the players who played in the tournament, many players had world golf rankings like a centrelink payment or are up in the 700/800's etc? The cream of the crop always come to the top in many events as Rod did. Well done to him but I wish he would smile on the golf course.

No one enjoys coming runner-up but I suppose the money for 2nd helps. Not bagging Rod, great player, just needs to smile more on the course but I guess that is his way of being in the zone that we all do not have.

Both players deserved to win. Pamps had been so close on some many occasions.
How were the crowd numbers?. Looked full around the 18th, but no seating around the 9th was a first.

I thought it was good to see Pampling looking visibly nervous on the last few holes and during the playoff. Sure, he wasn't performing stand-up comedy or high-fiving the crowd, but he did show some emotion of a different kind and that was good to watch.
Fraser did some great scrapping in the playoff too. Saving par from the sand in a playoff is pretty gutsy stuff. Shame he couldn't quite get there in the end.
I'm not an avid golf-watcher, but I thought it was reasonably gripping stuff, and I would have been happy for either bloke to win.

Great to see Pamps finally win one in Oz. I hope Nathan Green and Allenby can shake off their putting woes this week at the PGA...really looking forward to following them around Coolum.

What shafts did Allenby have, anyone know ? They had a red sticker just below the grip on all of them, which I haven't seen before.

I don't agree with having to see the players show emotion on the course. There are those like Woody Austin and there are those like Tiger Woods. As long as they put on a good show that what I like to watch.

I thought it was a bit of a tense time for all. Allenby was a mess after his "mistakes" on 15 or 16... Pamps had three chances to put it away earlier on and Fraser played sensational golf all day.
Fraser was hanging on during the play off holes though... just couldn't hit that green with his second. (hardest hole on the course all day) Pamp's driving was sensational on the playoffs.
As for smiling . . You are playing for your maiden win in Oz, or just a maiden win. You get some cool exemptions in Europe for Fraser or you are trying to figure out why you didn't win this tournament 4 holes ago for Pamps. Not exactly time for a chuckle.
And no one can beat the continuous scowl that Furyk has on his Melon. He can chip in from 40m to win a playoff and still look like you beat his cat to death with a 7 iron.
As for the shafts - they are KB Tour shafts. This is from the guy that invented Project X shafts, now that True Temper bought Royal Precision, he was out of a job - so he made these.

Enjoy

Pampling looks about as happy to be on the golf course as Colin Montsloberie.

What was going on with Allenby?
They were saying he was playing great given his personal issues and didn't know if he would play the other two events this summer.
His mum was following in a cart and just crying.

Didn't Pamps win the Canon or something back in '99?
I'm back.

Mate would have been hard backing him back then, you would have had to been betting with an offshore bookie in Fiji !
