    Default Golf terminology

    Hi Ozgolf forum,

Is there a term for holing out from off the green, apart from holing out from off the green?

I can find "slam dunk" for landing in the cup without touching the putting green surface. And "double poley" for sinking a putt from off the green (an old betting term; a "poley" being a putt longer than the flagpole). But I'm looking for a term for sinking an approach shot that bounces or rolls on the green and finds the cup.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Flogger

We call them in offs (worth a bikkie), but I haven't heard the term used outside our group.

I've never met a ferret that wasn't sneaky.

At Mount Broughton, I heard a Canberran use the term TCD, when it happened in matchplay.

    As in 'That **** Dotty'.

Love being called a knut on the golf course by your opposition, assuming you don't live your life as one, it means you have done something good.

I have heard of ferret and gobbler. I don't really use either though.

Snake for a longish putt from off the green. Dont think i have ever heard of any term for a full shot holeout.

Snake is a 3stab over here, when there’s a negative prize associated with 3 putting.

The ladies at my club give out balls for "gobblers" - I don't know what they mean by that, but perhaps it's this?

That crap is what Blakey lives for.

20 cents on everything you can think of.
