Default Picture Area for OzGolf Champs

Since there was a sea of flashbulbs at the OzGolf Champs I thought i'd start a thread for the results.

    Add commentary as required

    Enter the Eags...

Arriving late, i see a few of the lads 'practising'

Stern faces, fire in the bellies...

My goddamn fly keeps coming open....it's true!

    Happy faces! Thank goodness...

Damo drains another 30 footer in preparation using the incredible 2 ball....

Jarro extemporises his strategy, Gaz gazes into the distance, Duncan takes note....

Jarro and Blakey discuss face angles in depth

Trung tries in vain to organise the group shot....whilst Tez takes an unplanned photo from the "rear"....

    Carts at the muster point...

Nudgee's demonstrates his pre-shot routine before it goes to tatters during the group shot...

Damo demonstrates how to be a better lover to Nudgee...note Kee's looks of utter disgust....

    Gaz finalises his Quad's settings....2-2-2-16

Jarro ponies up the prize hats finally...

The first group gets away to the sea of flashbulbs and pressure of the gallery....

Bemused looks after the first group gets away...

Particle man, particle man, does the things a particle can...

    Blakey!!! Duck!!!

Jono assesses another short pitch in...

Andy post-rescue mid to 3 feet happy dance!

Scenecio's Magic Shot, you can just make out the Pink Tee in the distance whence it shall land...

    AndyLo at address

mmmm....birdie op for MacLeod on the par 3 17th West, blakey's drawn it suberbly through the green...

Drunken demonstrates golfing ettiquette and dress par excellence

Damo and Jarro unleash fury at the 15th River 401m monster, trying to humble macleod's paltry 270m drive

Peanut gallery 18th River assessing the champs green finesse

AndyPs overjoyed at the prospect of finishing!

MathMan, the human abacus tallies the results with dismay at the overall showing of form, vegas and macleod were early leaders in the clubhouse

Jarro reflects on what might have been....staring distractedly down the 18th

The final tussle on the 18th

My kittens Bucky and Paris, to illustrate my tendancy towards non sequitur...and to break the monotony of golf pics...

The Man with the White Socks

Rogues gallery in the post-match dissection by able-bodied committee of Andy and Blakey

    Iain triumphant!

No worries for the Champ Iain. 36 holes and not a sign of hat hair - still sticking straight up as if he just came out of a Stefan Salon.

great pics mate, that was a tough read.

Just a shame no-one got a pic of our new putt reading method of lying prostrate on the ground...

it worked a charm for those long one putts we drained!

man, that was one heck of a lob drive that one, so straight, so hiiigh.

Mate, I had high hopes of capturing everyone's swings (on the first tee) on video with my new digital camera. (Sony DCS-W1). After pressing the wrong button a few times, I gave up and ended up only getting AndyP's long drive swing. It's in WMV format, and I have compressed it down to about 100kb. Any idea how to post it up on the forum?

I think you have to host it on another site, then provide a link to it.
It's only my fugly swing, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Phew. Opening that lot of photos on page one has convinced me I need broadband.

    Looks like a great course.

Regarding the scores, why were the afternoon scores higher ? Was it a different course you played or was it just fatigue ?

That sounds like the green light for excuses.

    Mike, the course was different.

It had a lot of short doglegs, where local knowledge would have been real handy for the distance to the turns.

Greens were a different grass, and were a lot nastier (tiers, bowls, etc) than the first 18.

I also believe they may have just had the club champs, because the pins were in some pretty horrid positions (and I saw a club champs scoreboard in the clubhouse).

Mental fatigue was definitely a factor. It was hard to stay motivated after having a shocker, and there would have been a bit of foot dragging going on.

I think a lot of people also thought they were out of the race early in the second 18. That wasn't actually the case though, because noone was travelling that well.

Simply because they are no longer there. His iprimus account (Where the pics were hosted) is no more:

Sorry the personal web site for this customer has been suspended.

5 years is a long time. Not everyone stays with the same ISP over that time. I think I have a couple of the pics, but it's probably only the ones with myself or Duncan in them.

It was a great event though.

    Sure was.

It still remains one of the greatest achievements that OzGolf is responsible for

Shavey took him off the list, so he is either out or didn't bother responding.
