Totally disagree on this one, re: last series. He had the entire weight of attack on his shoudlers tonight due to the silly selection of Hunt. Bennett was right.

I think Hunt played better than I expected at 5/8, particularly in the second half.
You must have expected a shocker!!!! In attack anyways.

NSW were quick out of the markers. Deliberately putting pressure on. Cam Smith played the worst game I have seen him play for QLD.
NSW played brilliantly, i can't find fault in their game tonight. Deserving winners of course.

And can we get rid of the stupid ripping rule so the players actually hold onto the ball?
Yeah, it's always bloody contentious and there is rarely if ever a game goes by when a mistake isn't made on this one.

40 tackles can make you quiet in attack.

I have watched Thurston crack under pressure at the Cow Herders this year. He did it again tonight. He needs to play second fiddle to someone else so he doesn't think it is all up to him. I am sure Prince has slept with someones wife/daughter/dog or something.

I know f**k all about this stupid game, but you only have to look at the respective coaches, and know a little bit about the NSW coach, to know that Bellamy is the key to this whole thing.

As a Vic, I'm obliged to be anti-NSW, but Bellamy v Maninga in the coaches box - that is not even a fair fight

I'll be back in 3 weeks time when we level the series.

We were pretty ppor last night, very lacklustre in the opening half.

I'd say there'll be a huge push for Prince to come in at 5/8th now ... we really needed another creative player out there last night

there was no creativity, zip, nada, Thurstons first kick of the night was schoolboy stuff and the others were made to look good by Hodges chase. He threatened a couple of times but was shut down, as was Smith.

Mal got outcoached last night, there is no way a Murray coached side would have hung on like the Blues did. Sadly the job isn't done yet.

And seriously, if you are blaming the ref you're clutching at straws early

All the talk of Hunt doing good is a bit far fetched isn't it? He is an attacking player, why would they want him to expend all his energy with big hits? If they (the selectors) want that then Prince has no chance of getting picked. They may as well pick a guy like Tony Carroll.

Thurston was the playmaker and he choked. Sack him and put Prince at half, where he plays, Thurston off the bench and PJ goneski. People saying Hunt had a bad game are just bandwagoning because of the controversial selection. No one plays well behind a forward pack that doesn't go forward.

he had a great game in defence, ask Ryan Hoffman

Is that why they picked him sounds like something NSW would have done over the past few years. They tried to fit all their big players in and it cost them, only change would be Prince in, Tait out.

Yea I think they did. If the referee had cracked down on holding down and too quick out of marker it might have been a faster game. I am sure there were a couple of runs when both hookers thought they had a penalty. Archer must have been told not to whistle too much.

Shaneo, hope you didn't waste too much money at 16-1. There is a miniscule chance of them winning 3-0. What got me was the commentary, Phil Gould is the biggest tool on this planet by a big margin. Should Lockyer be back Qld will win easy up there. I thnk the back line should go something like this.
    1 Hunt
    2 Slater
    3 Hodges
    4 Inglis
    5 Folau
    6 Lockyer (or Thurston)
    7 Prince.
Plus, get rid of Marsh. And put a rocket up Carl Webb, he was almost as useless as Mason.

these two boys are a bit overrated, Mason was average until the QLDr's got tired. Miles went well though.

Better than getting carried away and thinking your players are better than they are. That headline in the Telegraph today was hilarious. One game and he's the next Joey! A lot of Queensland players were very ordinary, doesn't augur well for NSW. I can see them getting pumped in Brissie.

Winning 18-10 is a bad sign?

As indeed the NSW media were when they questioned the ability of Wallace to fill the halfback role.

Now it seems he's the best thing since the drug cheat !

Good for the Broncos though ... the kid will benefit with the added confidence for sure

There are two types of people in Australia - New South Welshmen & those who wish they were New South Welshman.

    Don't feel too bad.

I actually fall in the category you missed. Glad they're not new south welshmen. It's the sort of sentiment expressed by sms316 that is the reason every state in Australia hates nsw.
