    Default Adelaide

After gaining a well deserved promotion at work, I am being sent to Adelaide for a few days training. I fly in late on Tuesday night next week and return on Thursday evening, which leaves me free on Wednesday night.

I have never been to the City of Churches, and given that I am unlikely to visit any of these churches, I am looking for something to do. Unfortunaltely there is no time to take the bats out for a game, but on the plus side I have a rare evening without bride or child, so the options are limitless.

Does anybody out there have any suggestions for where I can have dinner at the company's expense (city only please)? And where can I find a good quality bar? I know that being a Wednesday makes this a limited field, but who knows? There might be something out there.

ps - I have been told not to come home without Hagues Chocolates. This could be my get out for returning with a hangover.

There are some good strip joints in Hindley Street in the CBD.

I've heard in Adelaide you can hit the town until all the clubs close, then have a nice dinner and be in bed in time to watch House on channel 10.

Outstanding. And no doubt an endless cue of Crows supporting dribblers.

Check out the Tap-Inn. If you ask nicely, you might even get Chris32 or Marcel to meet you there for a lazy 18 at Pebble Beach on the simulator after dinner.

And perhaps a sly pic if I can get away with it.

The Tapp-Inn is pretty good, been there quite a few times. Its only a 10-15 min walk from the city centre. As Courty said, they have a golf simulator and a indoor range thats a bit of fun.

unfortunatley Wednesday night I have already made plans otherwise I would have caught up

I think marcel is on holidays in melbourne currently from memory

Haighs choccies on the corner of King William and Rundle I think.

Rundle Street has numerous decent bars and restaurants, Stag Hotel at the eastern end combines both. Do you have a favoured cuisine?
Not sure of my roster but may be able to join up if you wish, will check this arvo

Sounds great. I don't have any particular favourite cuisine. Staying at the Grand Chancellor so everything is within walking distance.

Sounds like a plan. I'll just spend some time in the motel gym or bar after work.

    Marcell,

I fell ordinary for saying this, but I just got told a couple of hours ago that I already have dinner booked with my SA counterparts. Given I have just moved up the food chain at work, it probably wouldn't be the smartest thing for me to do if I brush them. I hope you understand. We'll hopefully catch up one day soon.
