    Default Dazza's Swing

    G'day everyone,

New to Ozgolf. Have been playing for nearly 15 years, but gave up 5 years ago. Great to join such a top Aussie Golf Forum! WOO!
Managed to drop my handicap down to the mid teens. Am currently playing off 27, as I've only been back into it for the last 6 months.

Finally pulled the clubs back out last year. Purchased a set of Top Flite Tour Advance clubs.
Here I am hitting a 7iron and driver. I enjoy a slight fade with most of my clubs, nothing dramatic and I am learning to control it.
Hitting most of the drives 230mt (No roll, bloody mud!)
    Comments and suggestions welcome.

    Cheers

I won't comment on another persons swing... I don't feel qualified. But welcome to the forum. What part of North Queensland are you from? There's a few of us up there.

Currently in Bowen. Not a bad spot, nice course. Strong Wind Warnings can affect play, but other than that it's great!

    Cheers

Nice swing mate, but I may be able to offer a suggestion that may straighten it up for you. You have what we would call a "three postcode" swing. Or ... you sway.

You start in one postcode, then on the backswing, you move to a new postcode . . . then after you have hit the ball you are in a whole new postcode again.

You hands a pretty good - so lets start there. Try a few shots without "shifting your weight", there is such a thing as shifting your weight... but it is nothing like what you are doing. (You are actually moving your weight ! not shifting it.)

But anyway, keep your head and chest covering the ball and that will shorten your backswing, get your arms to move first on teh downswing and see how you go.

By the way - love the downswing... there is a much lower marker in that swing.

    Enjoy

Haha, not anymore! I've been putting a heap of work into my shortgame.

Went for a round yesterday with the Sunday Social Club.

Shot 44 off the stick. Handicap of 14.5, ended up with 29.5 nett.
Won the competition, Handicap has been slashed, and I now have 5 new Maxfli Noodles in the bag!
Everything came together well, except my approach shots with my irons. But some practice will iron that flaw out.
Chipped like a champ all day, with most landing a foot from the hole.
Putting improved, but still not as good as I'd like.

    Cheers

Was down at the range this arvo.
For the past few weeks I've basically lost the ability to hit. a decent iron shot (Both Short and Long). Catching them either far too fat, or far too thin

So I tried straightening my knees a bit, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Stability throughout the swing has also improved.
Possibly the best I've struck the ball since I gave it away 5 years ago.
    Video to come tomorrow.

    Cheers

They'd be my strap on Colorado Sandals. The trusty 3 month old Proline Golf Shoes fell apart last weekend, so I just chucked the sandals on in the mean time.

Bollocks Dazza, you live in Bowen. Only thing i can think of is they paint the dirt green.

The only place i have seen drier is that big rock in the middle of australia

    We blame the saltworks!
Had good rain this year, so water allocations shouldn't be an issue.
