So what do we think about this situation with the Ferguson mother and the 60 minutes crew? I feel bloody sorry for the mother. Isn't it at about the point where if your partner said they wanted to take the kids to visit their family in a country that's not a signatory to the Hague convention (what ever it is) you'd wanna say no way in hell you are! Just saw the dad on TV saying about how distressed the kids are because of this, and even he sounds miffed by it, yet he stole his kids from the mother. He's a complete asshole himself. They were in fact just saying that the mother is the one who may get off the lightest in this, because she was just trying to reunite with her children.

To me, it seems this is a case where everyone involved in it is in the wrong, cept the kids. All they probably know is that they miss their mother, but don't understand that their dad was taking them away permanently from her.

Current Affairs programs have been getting increasingly self righteous in their approach and reporting, so the fact that 60 minutes and Brown attempted this isn't a great surprise to me. The fact that they stuffed it up even less so. You do feel for the kids.

Actually, have been talking about this more on another site. The father has said that they were all living in Lebanon happily together when in 2013 the mother took the kids to Oz for a visit then tore up their passports when they got here. So you may very well be right on that point Mtb! My initial posting was based on the first reports of it all, but as is often the case the story is much deeper and more convoluted than we can really know. And we really have no idea who is telling the truth. We can assume the ones who are suffering the most in this age the kids.

Out local news at its best today. Saw on FB that ch7 were interviewing Leah as part of a story on new specialised beds for the Hospitals oncology dept. The one edit they took off Leah's interview kinda made it sound like Leon died because of the Toowoomba Base Hospital. Then they said the 4 beds at 4k each were bought with funds donated by the Treadwell family (not from fund-raising by the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation in Leon's name and no mention of the golf day) and at the end of the story they put up a photo of Leah and Michael (her very alive friend and father of her youngest child Lachlan) rather than a photo of her and Leon.
