That's kinda what I was thinking. Right or wrong, if the kid decided to try and get away and take off and they stopped him, or chased him down to stop him and beat him, then that might be considered excessive force. These days I guess if the crim wants to get away you have to let them I spose.

mmm might be in a bit of crap, he and his mate have obviously given this guy a fair pasting for a period of time, not just a random whack, will be interesting
What ever the out come society/the community is better of with the burglar dead.
It will be interesting to see what the "facts" are when they are finally aired. Reading between the lines, the guy killed appears to have been a career crim who had spent a fair bit of his life behind bars. I suspect he was caught in the act, detained, and didn't want a bar of it, and hence the fight that ended badly.

From other reports it sounds like it was more than just "detained". There is a difference between defending your property and killing someone to stop them leaving when your safety is no longer in question. This one falls between the two I reckon. Will be interesting see what comes out in the wash.
But, more to this one, this guy Ricky Slater...he looks like a guy that was on one of those Cop shows the other night.....trying to find out if he was.
One story now saying he had old mates wifes purse in his hand and was not far from his daughters bedroom.
It's pretty simple, don't break into peoples homes. He's a serial offender. No sympathy regardless.

It's a sad state that our society has come to the point we accept, and applaude, someone killing someone else, regardless of how "justifiable" the reason.
Old dead mate bought it on himself unfortunately, never ever muck with someone's kids.

I'm not trying to be a hero but if I feel my kids are being put in danger even if it's not in my own home, best of luck to those who are at fault.

I am not necessarily saying here, but a quick read of Facebook or internet in general will reveal the mass of sentiment saying the are glad he is dead.
I have no issue with someone defending themselves in that kind of situation, but there is, in my opinion, are vast difference between self defence, and murder. If old mate's out in the street away from your house and family and you are still wailing on him, is that still self defence?
Considering our society deems someone like Martin Bryant doesnt deserve death for all his atrocities, why should this guy?

Dear GameBook Golfer,
As you most likely have noticed, development of the Android version of our app has been on hold for quite a while and it was recently removed from Google Play. We deeply regret to inform you that starting from April 18, 2016 Golf GameBook can no longer be used on any Android device. This email explains why we had to make this difficult decision, what our future plans for Android are and how you can continue to use Golf GameBook despite this.
Golf GameBook was originally created on iOS and when we started developing the app for other platforms, we made the decision to use a cross-platform tool rather than develop a native app for each platform. Back then this seemed like the wise thing to do, but since then we’ve come to realize that it was a mistake. We openly admit to making the wrong choice and sincerely apologize for this.
Using the cross-platform tool has set big limitations to our development work and it has become clear that we won’t be able to get this Android version up to speed with our iOS app. This is why we are now letting go of the existing Android app completely.
This decision has been a very difficult one for us, but we believe this is the best long-term solution for the whole Golf GameBook community. We will launch a brand new version of Golf GameBook for iOS this spring and have plans to develop a matching Android app in the future. We don’t have any set schedule yet and don’t want to make any promises that we might not be able to keep. So, for now we can only say it is coming and do our best to guarantee it will happen soon rather than later.
Despite the Android app no longer being available your Golf GameBook account won’t disappear anywhere and you can still access your profile by logging in at www.golfgamebook.com or on iPhone and iPad. If you play with friends using the Golf GameBook iPhone app, they can choose to add you in games and score your round. You can access the scores and live leaderboards online. If you organize group or league games, you'll need to make sure there is at least one person in each group with an iPhone who can enter the scores or use the Golf GameBook web app.
We hope that you will bear with us and give us a new chance to impress you. If you wish to stay updated on any new developments on our Android project, you can leave your contact details here. We promise to make sure that you’ll be among the first to know when we have more details to share.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for this disappointing news and hope to see you using Golf GameBook in the future.
Sincerely,
Team GameBook
Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
