Played a social game yesterday in perfect weather. The girl I played is off the same handicap as me and we play a very similar game. Was a good battle. In the end my putting won the day and I won 4/3.
Even though we played matchplay we played out each hole.
42 + 44 =86. (par 37 + 34 = 71)
Nothing brillant and good honest golf.

Played my last game at Macarthur Grange as a member this morning. Should have stayed in bed, it was tough in the rain.
31 points
93 Gross
3 Fairways
4 Greens in regulation
1/11 up & downs
0/1 Sand saves
34 putts
Course is really starting to improve, not too bad at all. Fairways are getting grass on them, greens are back to what they were like 3-4 years ago, very very good. Pity the managment is not improving.
Will go back occassionally to have a hit as a visitor and hopefully collect the visitors prize each time.

Our course had a two man ambrose today which are always good for a bit of fun. Partnered with a guy with a 11 hcap so bought us down to 4.5. Managed to scramble a 4under par and then with handicap we shot a nett 62.5 Look forward to a normal stroke next round i beleive is monthly medal.

Played at Albury Commercial, despite the steady rain.... we made it through 10, but the comp was called. Greens got saturated, and there was no sign of it letting up. I was playing OK, given the conditions, including a nice birdie on 3 (index 1), and a string of tidy pars.

Yesterday was a single stableford in oppressive heat (4th day in a row of 34º+ with 70%+ humidity). Couple that with the fact I was still cramping up from 2 games of indoor cricket on Thursday night, and it was a recipe for disaster. Just as I figured, my first 9 was a disaster, recording only 10pts. Expecting more of the same, I lobbed up to the second 9 prepared for the worse. On the tee I cleared my head of all the rubbish I had been trying to do to hold my swing together and held one clear thought. What happened next was completely unexpected. I started making crisp contact and hitting everything flush & straight. Although I finished the 9 with 20pts (+2), it damn well should have been better. I made two birdies, but I left an eagle attempt two inches short, and missed another birdie putt from 130cms. The difference is stats between the 9s is like night & day. I missed everything on the first 9, and hit (almost) everything on the second 9. 1 loose tee shot & a few dodgy putts are all that prevented me from going sub-par on the second 9.

Played with the boys at nudgee today. Thanks for the round Eag's, jarro and just. Like Eag's said we combined for a 62. Leading score in when we left was 57...
I had 89/74
FW 9/14 (all my misses were about 1-2 metres into the rough with a clear shot)
GIR 4/18 (2 x par 3's and a par 5)
U/D 5/14
Putts 29
Felt like i played alright today. I didn't get into too much trouble. Driver was in the fairway / close enough for the whole day... just noticing the lack of distance at the moment with no chance of going for most par 4's in two. Relying on my short game. Okay strategy when the short game is on song... which is was today. Missed a few short putts today and had two balls in a hazard so score should of been better.

26 putts, 28 putts, 29 putts - must be easier to putt in Queensland. Well done guys. That's what I need.

Kinda something game today. Short game was pathetic! Barely an up and down. They'd moved me up some groups and I didn't even hit the practice green today. Started 4 putt/3putt for the first 2 holes with another 3 putt shortly after. Missed some makeable birdie putts today, especially the 4 footer on the 2nd. 38 putts for the round. Only made one of 9 up and downs, and several were from just off the green.
While I only hit 3 fairways today, at least some of my misses were 'effective'. That one shot that makes you come back for more punishment was my drive on the first. Got it to 20mtrs from the green, then managed to just barely pitch it onto the green with the pin far on the other side.

20/01/2008, Brookwater GC Gold, Social Round.
10/14 effective tee-shots.
3/18 effective approaches.
4/8 up and down successes.
33 putts.
------------
1 birdie.
2 pars.
9 bogeys.
6 others.
Score 45-49-94 nett 84. (Par 36-36-72 ACR 73)
I guess I shouldn't have expected much for my first game of the year, but it was still disappointing. I just can't hit a target with my approaches, and the putter got off to a shocking start.
Highlights included hitting every fairway with the driver on the front nine, especially the one straight down the guts of the first for the second game in a row. As well, as the birdie on 14.
Next round: Nambour on Sunday, I think.

I redeemed myself a little bit yesterday and scored 36 stableford points.
Just focus on the 36 points. Well done.

I recently played at Waterford Valley, a victorian course.
i've played there a few times now but everytime it's still a challenge.
i had a 2 over 74, not very good i was hitting it everywhere and couldn't make a putt.
Typical when i'm not playing well.
Question, has anyone else played the course?
