Has Shavey taken Alos title as the most unreliable OzGolfer? The Quaterfinal was meant to be over 6 weeks ago, so time to take action. Either Rusty gets a walk over (which sucks IMO) or put back in who ever Shavey beat.

sort something out so we can keep this thing on track. There's a valid precedent for reinstatement.

Doesnt that mean that all 4 semi finalists are playing in the champs?

I realise this might be too far from left field, but maybe the semi could play on Saturday and the Final on Sunday?

If thats too complicated don't worry about it.

Back in your box Blakey. Do you know how much of an effort it was to get our match going this weekend.

I'll put my hand up for being a little tardy organising my game against Rusty. I've been pretty busy with a new job and bubs and do apologise; Rusty has been sending me gentle reminders which I have appreciated.

Will endeavour to knock this on the head sooner rather than later.

fwiw, imo the final should be played on the Sat at the Champs.

also, the precendent if anyone does get reinstated, is that they should give an additional 2 shots [insert controversial + can of worms, emoticon here]. that way if they win, after previously losing, they deserve to go on. [taking cover now]

Noone should be reinstated if we have already past the due date for a round, unless it is very easy for the match to happen.

    Ok good idea.

And make sure you keep up with the pace of play too ..... we don't want the biggest match of the year ruined from slow play.

I'm sure that won't be necessary Robot Boy...................I was 7 down after 7 - I think that is enough surely - I can only afford 1 more session with my Psych...

well then, just quickly, i had to give Damoo 8 shots, so one every 2nd hole. i'm thinking i've gotta play really well on atleast every odd hole, 'cos i've gotta give him a shot on the evens. Damoo's been doing well in the matchplay and i'd heard reports that he's been hitting he's new Cobra driver very straight (a big help). ive just scraped through in my matches.

Damoo wins the toss and decides to bat first. finds the bamboo and a bit of water off the 1st. i find the fairway and the green with my second - i'm off the hook.

off first on the second i bottom/heel it straight into the hedge 20m in front it popps through onto the down side-slope of the next tee box. "oh bugga, there goes that hole". Damoo obliges by going in the drink. i get to the green in three. Damoo may have 3 putted. 2up. i'm playing pretty solid 4up after 4.

miss the green on the par 3 5th, chip to about 3m. Damoo also misses into bunker. hits a good shot out, but unluckily 3 putts. the best was Damoo comment when AndyP quietly asks him "do you think he'll get this?". quick as a flash Damoo comes back with "the way he's going today, once he putts his ball down, it wouldn't surprise me if the wind blows it in." i sink the putt. 5up

6th i smother driver left, trying to keep it out of the wind. goes up close to trees just in front of me on the left. Damoo drives down the centre left. i'm first to play and don't fade enough to get out of trees further up near the green. Damoo pulls hybrid left near the green but in heavy trees. i punch 9i under tree branch onto green. Damoo has no choice but to punch low through trees, but then hits a chip to long. i hit a couple of putts and get another hole. 6up

7th i've hit a cracker down between the bunkers (the next day i'll top one into the water in front of the tee). onto the green and a couple of putts and i get that one. gees when's this gunna end?

ok, it ends now. 8th 179m on the markers, 205 into wind to the pin with laser. i hit driver hits the back hump, bounces up and trickles through palms behind green. best chip i could from there goes to front of green. poor chip back up slight upslope to pin. 2 putts for double. Damoo's got a hole. 6up

    9th 7up at the turn.

10th Damoo hits a screamer into the pin 6up.

11th 161m par 3, 175m to the pin. Damoo on green front. i put mine pin high into right bunker. we get out of the buggy near the bunker and Damoo says something along the lines of "gees your having a screamer today." i say "you know, i reckon you're my lucky charm. the 1st time i played with you was at Gailes about 2 years ago. and i had a screamer then too." "Great, that's ****ing great!", he comes back with. i say, "but don't worry bunkers are my weak point".

so you know what's gunna happen now - i'm thinkin' just get this ball up over the lip, out of the bunker, and give myself a chance. out it comes - reasonable length, high side and short of the pin... it's rolling high side towards the pin... gettin' closer... slowing down nicely... and... it drops! i couldn't believe it. (and of course the next day it'd take me 3 jabs to get out of a bunker on 4). Damoo hits a pretty good putt... length was good... just brakes away toward the end. dormie 7

12th i go left into the palms on the hump in line with the fairway bunker. Damoo goes right into the water. 130m for me to the pin and with the wind behind. but luckily i'm through the palms with a clear swing. i hit the ball it floats up over the trees near the green... lands and sits about 3-4m behind the pin. i sink the putt for a birdie and the game's over - 8 and 6.

of course, after that my game comes off the boil, Damoo ramps up a bit, and i limp home to 35 points and lament a round that coulda been .

thanks for the game Damo. i'm just so glad that we played this Sat and not Sunday.
