How is this for an off the wall idea to deal with byes.

If someone gets a bye, It is unfair on the person they meet in the next round, becuase they have played more games.

therefore give their opponent a 2nd chance to challenge that person for a rematch.

ie, Player1 gets a bye, and beats Player 2 in the next round.
Player 2 can challenge Player 1 for a rematch (if he wants to)

Thus player 1 gets to play the same number of games as anyone else (no free ride), and player 2 gets the 2nd chance, but only against the bloke who got the free ride to play against him in the first place.

The idea comes from the early years of AFL, when the minor premier, had a double chance of winning the grand final (as opposed to a prelim final)

becomes tricky when the person who lost the first time, wins the second time 'round.

byes are just a part of any competition eg. we have 1st round byes.

wasn't very well liked then either - and i don't see it being well liked here. I don't mind the idea - but would put more pressure on organisation....

    Kpac v DC68

    Kpac forfeit
My apologies. I've been unable to organise the rematch for this game being tied up with work commitments. Now i'm moving interstate so it is in best interest of the competition to withdraw, and let DC68 continue to the next stage without delaying the schedule further.

Like you need to remind me Pete . Actually, if I remember correctly the precedent is that DC has the choice on whether he wants to accept the forfeit or play you.

So maybe you should pm him about it. But that's what I remember. If I'm wrong someone can correct me, but I'm not searching through all the old threads to find it

We still need to hear from DC. Also, when vegas was brought back after Tezza's forfeit there was still more than 2 months left till the completion date for that round. In this case the date is 2 weeks past.

In the end, we need to hear from DC.

Ok lets just pretend i didn't even say the word forfeit.

Seeing as i played DC at nudgee, it was mutually agreed that the result of that match was a DC68 win.

    case closed.

And the Shazza Jaybam match has had two attempts allready. We did try to have it finished by the due date but we are just both such good evenly matched golfers it cant be split This is the third and final attempt too by the way.
