If anyone wants to come down to Hobart, I can drive us to a couple of the best local courses. The two best courses are Tasmania Golf Club and Royal Hobart. They are about a 20 min drive from Hobart. Green fees are pretty cheap - I think they are around $50-60. I think members of other clubs can play for $25, although I will have to double check that.

I could also drive us up to Barnbougle - it is only a 3.5 hour drive from Hobart. I am looking forward to meeting everyone at BD.

from all reports Tasmania is supposedly the better of the two Vegas.

yeah i've played Tasmania and it was quite good. A couple of the holes were a bit "Mickey Mouse" but there were some strong holes too and the site is very cool.

actually, lets lock it in for Tasmania GC. It's the more memorable of the two courses. Wife's uncle is joining us for a hit there now and hosting us at Launceston on Friday.

Rack rate is $70 at Tasmania GC, but it says in the guide that it's $45 if you have the 2008 guide.

Can anyone confirm that price???

Also, we'd only need to pay for 7 rounds, as John gets his game for free because he's a member at Launceston GC and they have a reciprocal arrangement.

you can book for a rate of $45 via go-golfing or $48 on iseek.

Note if we do a group booking via go-golfing 1300 55 28 55 sharon would do a rate of $40, once everyone had rang up and paid they would fax the info to the club so there is no paper to forget.
