    Default Riverlakes in Brisbane

    hi,

Going to play Riverlakes next week while on holidays.

Any tips ? I played there a few years a go and thought it was an 'interesting' layout with a mix of quality and pointless holes.

    Any thoughts or feedback appreciated.

That takes all the fun out of it Pete.

In reality, you're right. There aren't many, if any, holes where you need to hit driver. The exceptions might be the 5th, 6th (off the back tees) and the 10th (again off the back tees only).

The 11th is a hole I've always played conservatively, but I never score well there. Next time I think I might use more club (3-wood) and try and get down in that area in front of the green.

Just get up there and bomb away. Some days it will work and other days you will rack up a very large one. But atleast it was good fun.

If you hit it well off the tee and play for position you will have all sorts of different wedges in your hands all day. My advice is take lots of wedges. I usually carry 4 when i play there

    I know.

    1-4iron
2-driver left side everything goes right (hard front fast green be careful with long approaches)
    3-PW
    4-3 wood
5-3 wood (driver has to be aimed down the left or you can run out of room)
6-its only 190m of the plates to clear the water. hit driver and you could have 9 iron second.
    7.6 iron
    8. 6 iron be careful of the wind don't miss left.
9.3 wood or driver with a fade.
10.driver and take the water on aiming at the 135m peg and hit a draw. or hit 3 iron to the corner. double green with 13.
11.driver is to long, 3 wood at the green or layup with a 5iron
12.more room right then you thing. watch the water left. 3 wood short of the trees in the center or driver and go over.
13.driver over the left trees. everything goes right. your not getting home it two unless your lucky. water the water cut in on the right at the green
14.5 iron don't got right or long.
    15. 5 iron of the tee or shape 3 wood around the net at the green 240m to make it home watch the OB around the green.
16.8 iron plays short with the wind.
    17. hit the same as 16. its normally into the wind.
    18. 3 iron to the corner or shape the 3 wood or driver over the net.

    PS
    -be careful of the ESA.
-markers on the ground to the front
    -distance pegs 135 & 200.

    1.4 iron 190m leave 50m pitch
3.pw 115m better to be safe short left as a miss
16.8 140m. The hole plays 170m on the card but the green is 20m deep. It take a great shot to get here a back pin. wind helps, without its a 7.
    17. the hole plays 130m. wind holds the ball up.

Drive a bit further and play Reddy Bay. Or just play your home track

Yep, Reddy Bay is much nicer.

If you realy want to have some fun, knock it around Wynnum for a few hours.
