Can I put down Saturday's points.
I had 37 points which I was really happy with, as I decided to fall apart on the last four holes and only make one point on each of them.
The stack and tilt is still working for me.

Well done Julie. Did you change your handicap with the 37?

Played in a 2 Man Ambrose day yesterday @ Bardwell Valley. Had a reasonable day, highlight was my biggest drive ever on the 17th 284m Dogleg Par 4. Played the perfect fade/slice to the front edge of the green . Pity about the 3 putt par. Was a good day.
Bardwell Valley has made some improvements too. A few more bunkers etc. 1st hole now has bunkers short and to the right of the green for example.

Played at Campbelltown this morning. Very good round of golf.
Played really smart golf and for a change I got out of trouble well. Only blemishes on the card were a wipe and a one pointer. Wipe was from hitting wrong club into a par 3 and having an unplayable and the 1 pointer was just plain poor golf. Looks as if I might have one final handicap reduction for the year then.

I think we can safely say Grunt is back on the horse!

Having seen Grunt's 16 point effort at Campbelltown early this year, 40pts is a good score.

The two games could be no further apart from one another too, weird thing is they are the at beginning and at the end of my golf year. I really struggled that day but today it just felt so easy.

Well i've given the work mobile the flick and am officially away on golfing holliday. So far so good.

Played Yallourn yesterday for 38 points. More importantly the course is 5 minutes away to play the comp cost me $7 and to boot the course is quite good, it's a lot different to the goldie tracks but i thought it was pretty good, better than m'bah or hills or gold coast country club but i'mnot sure you can compare it properly to the resort courses, i'm going to take a camera next time, and post some pictures so you can have a look.

Anyway, played Moe today for 33pts. Course was nothing on Yallourn but playing Trafalgar tomorrow and it's suppose to be as good as Yallourn. Love the style of golf here aswell, so far has cost $7 each time, and there's not time sheets so you just rock up and make a group on the putting green and away you go.
Thankfully the golf has held up ok aswell so far. Getting in plenty of practice for Barnbougle
Still trying to arange to get into the city and play one of the top ones before i flee.

Nice weather for golf down here too.

Yeah mate, i'll be trying to get to Mirboo after xmas. You in the region?

Played (or attempted to) yesterday at Trafalgar. Had to retire hurt after 9 hole due to a foot/leg issue. New set of walkers and i'll be having a crack at the full layout next friday.. The front nine was very nice, green were very very quick! but in lovely condition (and soft underneath) pretty decent layout aswell, very impressive considering its location and size of town it's based in. Took a few snaps and i;ll put them up when i get a chance. Finished the front nine 6 over (acr is 69 tho )
Taking the weekend off from golfing to let the leg heal, and do a little work socialising with the PIL's..

31 points in my final game for the year, and final game as a dink! 4 wipes in that.

Hit the ball well pretty much all day except from within a 15' radius of the hole. Could not for the life of me sink a putt, and missed a few within 3-4 feet.

35 putts. That and 4 wipes..... should have been a much better score.

Problem is my 4 wipes today really stunk - just to continue the theme

Congrats to Sydney_Hacker who came runner-up in A Grade with 39 points (on c/b).

Total of 30 stableford points with 4 washes & 5 hours 20 minutes on the course. Makes for a very ordinary days golf.

    22/12/2007, Nambour GC, Stableford.

    5/12 effective tee shots.
    7/18 effective approaches.
1/8 up and down successes!!!! (I average 50% over the last 6 months and my one U&D was after I putted off the green ffs)
    37 putts!
    ----------------
    5 pars.
    10 bogeys.
    3 others.

    Score 42-42-84 stab 30pts (Par 34-34-68 CCR 66)

Pretty ordinary round by me today. It started with a great tee-shot, but the missed green from 70m was more reflective of the days play.

My short game was terrible. I couldn't get chips close, and I couldn't hit putts (or read them very well in the first place). There were a few shocker shots in the round too, such as a couple of shanks, that I could do without. After a while, the mental game went on holiday too. I was surprised my score wasn't under 30 points, because that's what it felt like.

I think I'll just write this one off as a warm up for the coming week of golf.

Next Round: Tomorrow, Return to Caboolture.

4BBB Stab at Caboolture today. 47 points.

Caboolture is currently playing as a par 70 due to water grid infrastructure works along the high voltage lines. The 15th is playing as a short Par 4 - 285m instead of a sharp dogleg Par 5. Would have had 82 off the stick including 2 triple bogeys. 31 putts.

Forgot to mention, they've recently put distance markers on the sprinkler heads too.

    Friday 21/12/2007 Brisbane GC

    75 Gross
    68 Net

I've been putting solidly for over a month now, with minimal 3 putts and/or short misses. Nothing great but glad to be in the 30-34 putt range pretty consistently.

I'm not hitting the ball any better, but the key to my last 3 games that have all been Gross scores in the 70's I've only hit it in 3 greenside traps, all three resulted in doubles too!

I'm not kidding myself that my shortgame issues are gone, but I've trained myself to hit away from trouble I know I can't get out of and scores have settled. Once I get a bit more confident about getting up and down (i have bladed every bunker shot for a month now) I might start firing at pins again and will have potential for even better rounds.

Only club in the bag on notice is the driver.

    Back to the round details.

3 birds, and made double on 17 and a soft bogey on 18 to ruin what could have been a great round. Next game is a while away as I've just arrived in Melbourne sans clubs!

Back down to 6, hopefully I can play to it for a change!

Just gave Campbelltown a ring as I had not seen any results in Golflink. Was informed that I got done in a countback, bugger, thought 21 on the back would have been enough. They could not work out why my results were not on golflink though. Hopefully the handicap reduction will be there soon, On the downward spiral hopefully.

    31 points at Nudgee today ( 13/18 )

Don't have a clue where the driver is going at the moment ..... and the ironplay isn't much better Thank god the putter is behaving and getting me out of serious trouble.

Next stop .... lessons .... gonna make an effort next year to at least practice once a week and see where that takes me.
I'm sick of having no idea what i'm doing out there

After my first 6 holes today I thought I'd solved the mystery of golf, but after a terrible back nine I know I haven't. 33 points in total after being even par after six holes.

    Fairways = 10 of 14
    GIR = 7 of 18
    Putts = 34, 1 birdie, zero 3putts
    Up&Down = 1 of 6
    Sand Saves = 0 of 3
    2 penalty shots.
