    Default Week comencing 10th December 2007

    Well, i'll start this one!

    I had my first round in a long time today

    Worked on hitting both draws and fades into different fairways and greens

    worked really well, struck the ball very well and could shape it both ways

    very keen to hit up the comp rounds again and might just go join bankstown tomoz!

    see you all out there!

    95/74 in the Monthly Mug at Reddy Bay today. Played some solid golf, just got into trouble off the tee on a couple of holes, and putting was average. (35 putts). Pretty happy all round though.

    As mentioned last week my goal for the year was 5. (http://www.ozgolf.net/forums/showpos...5&postcount=25) ..I missed by 0.3

    Had a 73 today, 10 GIR, 30 putts (including a miss from about 3 inches where there was wet grass on the ball I did not see and the ball just went no where). Nett 67 meant I did 0.4 so finished the year of 5.7, madea late charge, but could not get there as I am pretty sure I won't be playing another comp round this year...

    Christmas Ambrose today. -8 scratch with a total handicap of 58 for 7 & 6/8 (12, 13, 13 and 20).

    The 20 marker is the ladies club champ for 2007. We fired at pins all day, sank putts from on and off the green, and 1 chip in. A couple of gutsy saves for 3-under on the front, 5-under on the back, and 2 sitting on the edge of the cup (both on the back - could have been 7-under!!! ). 8 birdies, no bogeys.

    Sen-frikkin-sational.

    Played with Mike today in Mareeba. I had 32 pts in an individual stab. 18 on the front (with bugger all putts) and 14 on the back (5 x 1 pts ).

    Another great score. Is this a hot streak or the sort of results you've been expecting to come along?

    Another blah round.... 34 points (77) at Albury yesterday. Made 3 consecutive double bogeys on 5, 6, & 7. I struggled to get back into it after that. Made a couple of very basic short game errors, too, including a couple of dopey 3 putts.

    Ballstriking was fairly solid. I've had my irons bent 2* flat, and I like it. I need to trust myself a little more, as I found myself aiming my iron shots a little too far right, allowing for a hard draw. With the flatter irons, the hard draw is much less prevalent.

    Had a hookathon off the tee yesterday for a crappy 103/82 in the last medal of the year. might have 1 or 2 more games to squeeze in this year if I am lucky. Only 29 putts and played well from 100m in. Stupid game.

    32 points at Long Reef today with TS and Jono. I haven't looked in that thread yet so I don't know what they said about my round. But I will say that 32 was just about the best score I could possibly have shot. The driving was just appallingly woeful, and I kept finding impossible positions. The big positive was that I putted really well.

    Fairways = 6 of 14
    Greens in reg = 5 of 18
    Putts = 29, 2 birdies, zero 3putts
    Up and down = 3 of 7
    Sand Saves = 2 of 5
    4 penalty shots

    Honestly, it is the results I expected to come...I have worked really hard at my game with some fairly major swing changes and my misses are getting smaller and smaller. Last couple of weeks the putter has behaved and those are the results. That said I am a long way from claiming to have mastered this game!

    I'm sure if you did claim that, there would be only pats on the back from this forum.

    I played Woolooware again on Saturday, the first outing with the new set of clubs. Whilst not a blindingly brilliant game by some of the standards in the thread, I had alot of personal achievements, the biggest one being a personal best equalling round of 11 over 81 (par 70) in windy conditions. which is good for my 5th game back after a 7 year break.

    The Bad, anything that involved the driver and a tee = trees, Left alot of putts short on longer putts.
    The good, smart recovery from the trees. anything within 50m of the green landed with in 3m of the pin ( I like this 60*)

    I also left alot out there so there is still room for improvements. Now I need to get myself involved with a club and get a handicap.

    FIR 2 of 13
    GIR 8 of 18
    Sand saves 0 of 1
    Putts = 33 (2 x 3 putts)
    Birdies = 3
    Pars = 9
    Bogies = 0
    D. Bogies = 4
    T. Bogies = 2

    Cheers
    Simon
