Champs Form Appraisal
I thought a thread on how you think your game is going leading up to the Champs would be interesting. So let's see some honest form appraisals.
-------------
Off the Tee: I couldn't be happier really, the driver is going really well albeit a little short. I'm hitting a lot of fairways, and if I miss I'm usually not in too much trouble.
Iron Play: This is always the most inconsistent part of my game, and when they are on, I can shoot low scores. If they're not, but are getting me to greens surrounds (and missing trouble), I can still play to around handicap. The irons were on a month ago, and they are a bit off right now. Miss management has been pretty good lately using my course plans though.
Short Game: I don't mind chipping and putting, and this area of my game seems to be going along quite nicely and doesn't give me any concerns. I don't think KV's greens will be to my liking though. I prefer them slower, so I can ram them into the back of the cup, but I think I've improved recently on faster greens.
Kooralbyn Scores: 9/8/07 - 103/92, 22/3/07 - 87/77. The first round wasn't as bad as the score shows. I threw it away. Both are off the black markers too.
Overall: Obviously my form isn't too bad after shooting my best score and reaching a handicap low in the last month. I think I've been playing thereabouts to my handicap since then, but my concern is that I've been taking about 5 holes to get going when I haven't had a warmup hit, and it's hurting my scores. I've been playing smart and the rhythm is good, so I'd like it to continue.

Off the Tee: Can't find a fairway.
Iron Play: Slapping everything out the toe.
Short Game: Doesn't matter if I chip well becasue I can't sink anything over 3 feet.
Kooralbyn Scores: Last round was about 6-7 years ago (probably mid 80's)
Overall: Looking forward to the drinking and socialising.
Anyone want to back me??

Off the Tee: Not as long as in years gone by, but mostly straight.
Iron Play: not too bad. have had a couple of short iron shanks of late, but generally the ball is going where i'm aiming.
Short Game: chipping is average at best. i don't practice so can't expect too much. Putting was good at Windaroo 2 weeks ago, but sucked in Sydney last week. Hopefully KV greens are slow and flat!
Kooralbyn Scores: Played it 2-3 times 10 years ago. Have never played to hcap there from memory. Going in cold.
Overall: I've drifted out from 5 to 8 this year with the arrival of bub #2 and am a little frustrated by a lack of touch. When I get into the zone, I can still hit the ball as good as ever. Generally I have been making too many soft bogeys to post decent scores. My typical round for the past 6 months is low-80's with flashes of brilliance and some shockers thrown in. I'd love to shoot a pair of 80's at KV, but realistically can't expect that good a result....

Off the Tee: Can usually count for 1 to 2 fairway hit in a round. Misses are high right, so I am hoping there aren't too many OOB on the right handside.
Iron Play: Usually don't know where the ball is going to finish up, either pull to the left and slice to the right.
Short Game: Pretty poor distance with the SW. Can't the hit LW at all, shank to the right most of the time.
Putting: Can count for 2 to 3 3-putt most rounds.
Kooralbyn: Never play there before, so it will cost me at least 4 to 5 shots on sat.

Off the Tee: Duck Hook
Iron Play: 8 iron up, great, anything less than an 8 iron, rank duck hooks.
Short Game: dunno, i either hit the green or am in the mulga. Putting has very streaky, between shocking and ok.
Kooralbyn Scores: nett scores 76-85
Overall: Playing Ok as long as i am hitting short irons in, but isnt that everyone?

Off the Tee: Fighting a hook - usually takes me half a dozen shots to work out wtf is going on.
Iron Play: The best part of my game. Might be considered adequate.
Short Game: If the confidence is up it is merely bad. If I'm struggling it is disastrous. Putting aspires to mediocrity and I can't remember the last putt I sunk that was more than 6 feet.
Kooralbyn Scores: To quote Vyvian, I am a sissy virgin.
Overall: It better be fun - it won't be good.

Off the Tee: Anywhere. KV will be playing long if its 3 iron from the tee. last 4 rounds have been crap 9,5,4,1 balls OB or wet from the tee. If theirs trouble I will be there.
Iron Play: starting to hit some mint irons. but still have a couple of bad swings a round.
Short Game: very streaky, or is that knifie.
Kooralbyn Scores: nett scores 80+ I think
Overall: Playing crap 4-5 birdie putts a round 1 in the last 4 rounds. avg 6 pars a round. and alot of big numbers. But hey its stab so anything could happen. I been know to shot 36 points with 6 washes.

Off the Tee: Who knows where it will go?
Irons: Not too bad, misses are now to the left
Short Game: been pretty good lately, the good games have been saved by the up & downs and sand saves.
KV: Never played it!
Overall: Have to say I am never sure, can go from playing like a pro to like a full on new starter in a matter of seconds. Could be 40 points with a wipe or 2. But then again could be 20 points with only 4 scoring holes.

Off the Tee: New drivers working a treat! Haven't found so many fairways for a long time.
Iron Play: Solid. Hitting a lot of greens.
Short Game: Anything longer than 15 feet and I have no idea with the putter. Last 3 games have seen me have 36+ putts.
Kooralbyn Scores: Where's Kooralbyn?
Overall: If I putt well (or even average) I should score well. If I have half a dozen 3-putts on the front, than I'm on the p1ss!

I'm not attending, but will appraise me form anyway.
Off the tee: Slowly improving and getting used to new driver, much more forgiving, but not as long as the 510. Perci cut it down for me last week to match the length of my old driver, hopefully this improves my accuracy.
Iron Play: No problems here as usual, but would like to start hitting it a bit closer from inside about 130
Short Game: It's now at an all-time low. Putting poorly and chipping is remarkably bad. Knifing 3+ a game and also knifing 40-80m pitch shots regularly. If I don't knife it, I'm hitting it fat. There is NO middle ground.
Overall: Been consistently shooting mid 80's for a while now, despite hitting it pretty well. If I could just get my short game to 'mediocre' I'd easily play to my hcp most weeks. Current assessment of short game is 'retarded blind man with one arm'

OFF THE TEE : All over the shop at the moment
IRON PLAY : Starting to get used to the new irons and the miss hits are a lot more forgiving.
SHORT GAME : Big improvement on this time last year, so much more confident around the greens, still shit at bunker play.
PUTTING : Can have 28 or 38 putts a round very hot and cold.
KOORALBYN SCORES : Ugly
