    Net 86, aka 22 points.

I knew my day was in trouble after the first tee shot when my almost perfect drive rolled through the fairway into an unplayable v at the base of a tree. Two fried eggs, 3 work calls, 4 ricocheted backwards tree irons, 41 putts and 0 fks later, it was over. Bring on 72 holes of stroke.

29 points for me today in my first round for six weeks. I'm posting purely to show that I'm still alive and playing golf. Our greens get renovated next week so I can't see a good score coming for a while.

After two holes I would have gladly accepted 29, because my total was 1 point and no shots close to the middle of the club. Then I found the cure and played well, until I missed a 3 foot birdie putt on 13, and then chopped my way home for 5 points over the last 5 holes.

It was nice to be back playing golf though.

For the first time in a long long time I played to cap, with a cheeky 38pts off a daily of 9.

I think the secret was keeping driver in play, and going back to a sneaky good set of old school irons - Ping i5's.

Was worried at the start as a couple of lightly shaved hosels on the chipping green, but chipped pretty good overall.

Played with a 70yr ex Australian Hockey Player. Old mofo had me by 3-5m on every drive, though I paid homage with several nice "whooshka" calls for him.

    18/20 38 off 9
    3 birds
    6 pars
    8 bogies
    1 double

Its quite possible 1 of 3 members who kakkaa may have been turned to quackquack at that moment. I'm playing with him tomorrow, I hope he makes a birdie.

My regular playing partner flaps his wings with bent elbows and says "tweet tweet" to mock the kakaa. It shits me. He doesn't make many birdies fortunately.

An eccentric playing partner of mine calls a birdie of the first a terraphosa and basically rules out any good coming off the round.
I quietly had to look up a terraphosa as I was unaware it's a giant bird eating spider.
The bloke is a dork, albeit a loveable one

It’s ridiculous. A golf course should resemble a cross between a nursing home and a library.

These people should be banned for not treating it with the seriousness it deserves.

Before we know it we’ll have idiots playing country music out of blue tooth speakers attached to their bags during a round.

    Another round at Maryborough.

    Played good, 37pts.

Most importantly, old mate made no birdies so unsure if the "quack quack" is taking off.

76 gross, 64 nett (5 under). Very happy with that.

Played monthly medal at the Mary today, and surprisingly had my 3rd round in a row at or under handicap.

No real excitement in the round, except maybe a cheeky Kakkaaa on the12th for the first time in ages (its not particularly hard).

Mate birdied 10, he's still firmly on #teamkakkaaaa with not a single quack to be heard anywhere.

    39/40 79 nett 70 (par 70)
    1 birdie
    9 pars
    6 bogies
    2 doubles

Today was a Trainwreck, capital T intended, however I am getting over a cold/flu thing so I pretty much expected not to play that well. I didn't expect to take 8 or 9 shots or whatever the hell it was out of a bunker on 3 though. Then made par on the next hole which is index 1. Golf.
    Ended up with 97/84 .

Going to Gailes tomorrow, unless I feel worse tomorrow morning. Probably be more of the same but maybe I'll feel better by then.

First hole a par 3, on for 2 and 3 putt. Oops.
Set the tone for the day.
I was also trialling some srixon zx4 that I got 5 minutes before committee meeting and never got a hit of them before teeing up. Nice clubs.

Not able to play Saturday I decided to try a Sunday game and was lucky to score a spot in a group with one of our club pro's who plays of +5 for club competition play (+6.1 actual) so figured I would just sit back and enjoy.

    37 points in total
21 front - Bogey, Par, Par, Par, Triple, Bogey, Bogey, Par, Bogey
16 Back - 3 putt double, Bogey (2 shots), Par (first par in comp play on this hole), triple (1 in the creek), bogey, bogey, bogey, double and a double to finish
Green played nice after the coring a few weeks back and having been prepared for club champs (Saturday). Had a good speed and true roll which played really well with me holing a number of 3 - 7 footers for the day and a couple far larger

Waiting to see the impact on the handical as this was only my 16th round so should move to best 5 and this was pretty much the best since I started getting back in to it

Work social club 2nd round of the club championships at Keperra, I won A grade with a 85 (78 first round) in tricky conditions with on and off rain and a course I haven't played in 15+ years. ( I don't think I ever played the Old course front 9 at all)
The round a mix of everything with a 6 or 2 and a 7 in there, but also 3 birdies on par 5s, and took out the last 2 NTPs, nearly got the long drive on 18 as I was 40m pass the winner (in my group) but ran out of fairway

Irons still need a lot of work.

When I got the trophy I noticed they have been doing the club championships since 1971, the current President was on there 19 times, all A grade, and his first win was in 1980 when I was 5, and his last was 2021, just amazing.
