    Default NSW 2008 Matchplay

Ok guys & girls the 2007 Final is being played this weekend so now is a good a chance as any to see how many of us are keen for next years event. The OzGolf Year is Champs to Champs isn't it?

What should we set as the rules for the event?

Should we have time limits for rounds?

Should we limit entries to 16 or have a bigger field with no doubt a lot of 1st round byes?

    DRAW DONE!!

You in now Mike, 2007 OzGolf year is over for matchplay now.

To the rest of you fellow NSW OzGolfers, who is keen for another go at this. This worked in some ways and didn't in others, any suggestions to make it better?
How about we register interest now and try to play all 1st round matches by the 31 January 2008. The OzGolf season starts the week after the champs is over so why not get the ball rolling early. We could even try to have a 1st round matchplay day where as many matches as possible ore on the same day.

I will start the playing list,

    Grant,

It may be best if I opt out of the 2008 matchplay, especially after dropping out of the 2007. With the difficultly I have playing weekends, I might just watch from the sidelines.

Put andrew and I in a first round, I'll play weekdays against him

Maybe this raises an interesting point, everyone should nominate their best days of the week for play.

I'm always available for a Matchplay game, and I'll adjust my working days to fit in a weekday game against an opponent who can't do weekends.

I don't think we can do anything to encourage those who don't want to play. If we only get 8 definite starters then so be it, but we should wait until 2008, and perhaps a few weeks into the year before making any 2008 decisions.

We might have to give Jono a medical exemption to delay his first game, but we should study his doctors certificate closely.
