NSW 2008 Matchplay

Ok guys & girls the 2007 Final is being played this weekend so now is a good a chance as any to see how many of us are keen for next years event. The OzGolf Year is Champs to Champs isn't it?


What should we set as the rules for the event?

Should we have time limits for rounds?

Should we limit entries to 16 or have a bigger field with no doubt a lot of 1st round byes?

Ok we have to get this going again.
What does everyone think we should do here? Opinions wanted from those in this. Other opinions will be listened too but may not be taken in to consideration.

TS has conceded, should Mikezone13 get a free run into the semis or should another player from the field get another go at it? This would mean that Mike would have to play the 1/4 final still.

I am in a difficult position in all this as I am still in the hunt and play Mikezone or whoever in the next round.

We are seriously starting to run out of time with this if we are to complete it before the Champs.

Ok looks as if no one is worried that Mikezone13 gets a run into the Semis.

Mike when are you available for a game?
Hit me with some dates and I will see what my roster tells me.

We need to get this played by 30th September at the latest. Same for the other semi, Jim & Pete.

Also final needs to be played before the champs, 1st week in November

I could possibly play on the October long weekend somewhere. I have to play a certain number of games at my home club prior to the champs, which start the weekend after the long weekend.

Sunday 31 August
Sunday 7 September - This could be open if my team doesn't win our soccer semi-final this saturday
Saturday 13 September - Again I think this is out, but not 100% sure
Sunday 14 September
Saturday 20 September
Sunday 21 September
Saturday 27 September
Sunday 28 September

So based on the above a weekday is best, or Saturday 6th Sep or maybe 7th Sep depending on football result this weekend.

I'm out 7th of September, working. Saturdays are tough to get a tee time anywhere too. So Sundays and midweek may be the only options.

October long weekend is fine by me, either the Sunday or the Monday. I'm not going anywhere that weekend.

Unlike our colleagues, we should take further discussions on this matter into the PM world until much closer to the date.

For the record, I think that as TS forfeited, Mike should go through. Luck of the draw, and all that stuff.

Jim, the undefeated NSW matchplay Champ 2005/06/07. Tough

Think I have played enough games with both to know I will have to work to win. They will have to give me quite a few shots though. (8-10 I think)
