Default Best golf teacher in Sydney??

Title speaks for itself but am in need of a few lessons to straighten me out. A reason for why he/she is good would be great too.

    Where are you based?

I'll vouch for Sydney Olympic Park, in particular Darius Gear. But as long as you have an idea of what you need to improve. Don't give these guys a blank canvas to work with, you'll walk away more confused than before.
Lucy Harris smart smart smart, Martin Harris dumb.

I use Darius too, great guy, who puts it in Laymans terms that seem easy to understand and carry out.
Am off to a lesson with him tomorrow.

If you find Homebush easy to get to, there are about 6 or so Pros, maybe more working out of the range there.

You won't go wrong with Darius Gear. I first met Darius when my son (aged 6 at the time) was doing some junior clinics at Sydney Olympic Park. We have been seeing Darius ever since. He has a genuine passion for teaching and ability to explain things in a simple way - especially important when you're teaching kids (or not very technical parents!). He keeps it fun and introduces a lot of variety in his drills. My son is now 12 and although only a small kid (hits 165m off the tee), he plays off 19. His progress has been steady under the guidance of Darius. One of things that stands out for me in his teaching techniques is that he understands it's not a case of one size fits all and works to adjust natural tendencies, so you end up with an effective swing - albeit with your own flavour. He now teaches at Moore Park Sydney.

I recently had a short game lesson with Anne Rollo (an ex LPGA Touring Pro) at Muirfield, and have since reduced my handicap by 30% in 6 weeks.

She is very good and I specifically chose a woman for short game, as I think the LPGA have the best short game players bar none. I told her I wanted a short game like a Korean woman and she looked at me puzzled until I explained why. I'll take Jiyai Shin or Na Yeon Choi's short games (excluding bunker play) over any of the male PGA players any day!

For long game & general coaching, I have used Dave Saunders and Danny Vera over the years, and both are very good - both are Northern Beaches based (Danny is at Long Reef & Dave is at the Narrabeen Driving Range).

Alex at Eastlakes is pretty good for a young bloke. He has done / does a lot of training with juniors and so knows how to keep it simple, which is what most of us need!

Not sure of his name but I have heard the Pro at Bonnie Doon to be ok also??

I have also been to John Serhan at St Michaels. He was pretty good, really listened to your thoughts and then works from there. He is big on the whole "process" though so likes (not compulary but recommends) you to have the full physio screening, etc, if that is what will work with you.
I believe he has also done a lot with elite junir squads and has a few young amateurs under his wings... http://www.stmichaelsgolf.com.au/gue...teaching.mhtml

Titty goes to Rob Curtis also at St Micks and talks highly of him.

Peep's, even if you want, you can just book a Trackman session.
Take a shit load of drivers/shafts etc and test them all out with the best kit out there.
Oh, and they use real balls, not range balls and decent ones at that.

Can vouch for Brent Dale at Liverpool. Keeps it pretty simple and doesn't clutter the mind too much. Always recommends relevant quality drills for the areas needing attention.

Good with keeping an interest in your progress afterwards as well.
