I remember this well. Big ball went straight and higher. I stayed with the small ball until it was taken out of play

I seem to remember an Optimum Magna ball that was slightly oversize as well?

I nearly got some of those a while ago until I started using the TP5/TP5x and liked them so much I still use them now.

I found some old Top Flite titanium or whatever they are yesterday stashed away somewhere at my olds place. Decided to donate them to the op shop 😂

I had a few balls racked up from an NTP and placing in comps recently so I grabbed a sleeve of ProV1 to compare to the TP5. I'm considering switching after playing several rounds with it. I'm getting a little more distance off the tee, but more importantly I feel like I have better control with my irons, it's more gut than anything else but I feel like I'm hitting it straighter more often. Short game performance is pretty much the same. I have one left so I'll have another round, or two if I don't lose it this weekend to test it more.

I've gone to the Srixon Q Star Tour.
    Great value, performs well greenside.

Excellent cross between the Z Star & standard Q Star.

I have been trialing the Titleist Tour Speed after watching the MGS review. I am a believer in the extra distance for my swing speed, it is noticeably longer with Driver. Still a little on the fence on the short game side. It is very good off the Putter face but I am still adjusting to the inside 100m shots. I am some what hot (very) and cold (ugh!) at the moment on these shots. I am pretty sure it is the Golfer that is the problem, but still a work in progress.

Same for me and a decent price too considering I lose 1 per round.

And like the Z Stars, they hold up well to cart paths & rock hits.

Love TP5X but the Srixon ZstarXV survives full blooded tree hits alot better. TP5X very sensitive to the less than perfect strike.

I cant tell the difference between any of them ( within their category)

But i am a little bothered by the low quality of some as tested by MyGolfSpy, in respect of balance, weight and size. From memory some of those less mainstream balls ranked low in thise regard, with the Prov1/z the best.

For some manufacturers it may depend on which factory the ball model is made in. The previous iteration of the QStar Tour came in for some sharp criticism. This particular ball came out of their Indonesian factory whereas the more expensive product, I believe, comes out of a factory in Japan. MyGolfSpy haven't done a Ball Lab review on the latest QStar Tour version. It would be interesting to see how it compares to the previous one. https://mygolfspy.com/ball-lab-golf-ball-quality-comparison-tool/

Are the Q Star Tours the older model or the 2022 ones?

The version tested by MGS was the 2020 version. That is the version prior to the current one. I didn't realise but, looking back over their quality comparison website, the 2019 ZStar XV appear to have been even worse. I think I still have a sleeve or two of these in the garage cupboard. I may have to give them to the kids.

I've been unhappy with the durability of z stars lately - getting a lot of scuffs and seams showing up. Have switched to pro v1s, which so far have been a lot better (but obviously more expensive).
