I don't go into market research etc but a guy who plays off 0 to 7 (IMHO) simply won't change balls no matter how cheap they are.

The handicap range is a stab I guess, but I could see a pro in his shop push a ball into a 15 markers hand and say try this and he would. I doubt he would even try with a single figure golfer, we are all too serious

Hi Scott, The reality of how bad the financial crisis is going to get in the US will cause a number of brands ( not Titleist ) to blink in relation to price points and turning product over. The US situation is a lot worse than we can imagine and it looks like it will be for a much longer period than we have ever experienced in our lifetime.

Hey 3, I understand you thoughts but I don't believe it will be the club pro suggesting any new ball to players under 12 handicap, I believe it will be the usual way which is player word of mouth. Slow but sure and in the end the most cost effective way to both win over players and keep them. Mind you this only happens with products that justify it. Cheers,Boz.

I'm off of 4 and will really play any of the "premium" balls that are out there.

I prefer a ProV1X, but will also use the Z-UR range, plain ProV1, u-tri tours , Bridgeys or Taylors in competition.

I think I may be a rare breed in this instance. With me, if I play well with a ball, I gain confidence in it and as a result, I play better.

The only top shelf ball I don't really like are Callys, which I find play short for me and also don't generate as much spin.

I've had one sitting in my ball silo for about 3 weeks now, but haven't been game enough to try it in a comp as I have actually been playing quite decent lately. I'll give it a shot my next round and see how it goes for me.

The HX tour was a load of crap (for me) and I would actually prefer the HX blue or red to it.

Yeah HX Tour/56 was very poor, cut up heaps and appeared 'short' compared to other balls - Tour iX is a MAJOR improvement

Add in the current Golfer Pacific magazine lists them for $27/dozen + $9 P&H for any quantity.

Amart at Cairns took all my Fantom models but no Vision's so far, go figure!
Rebel Townsville ae going ok with the Vision's but no stock into Cairns so far.
Close but no cigars, sorry Mike.

During the ;09 Tour Vision testing period there will probably be a direct deal
for the Ozgolf guys that are helping me get that ball right to market in the States/Europe.

I will let everyone know when I have the updated balls available, if thats ok with
    the forum rules etc,,,, Boz.

pretty sure they only stock the fantom balls at amart in ballarat.

  17. #292

Yes thats right Once, 45 Amart stores put in the test range of Fantom designs.
Which I hope they are selling through on special/sampling exercise at $19.95 a dozen.

The Power Control 3 piece is pretty good value plus the HiSoft at those prices.

If it works as planned I have designed a new HiSoft model range to then attack
the Noodle/Laddie/Soft Feel market in the sub $30 area.

    Cheers,
    Boz.

    Boz

do you have a model out, or coming out aimed at the <105mph driver swing speed player, with reasonable level of spin around the green (like the Bridgestone 330-RX)? i'm interested in trying/trialling it.

    Hi Rusty,

I am firstly going to release the updated Xpert balls X3 that will be close
but I believe it will be the new nano cover material that we will be working on up in
Qld, that should put that ball right in the mix. We have already got the full shot feel
and sound right but it's the short game area that needs the work.

Like I said the guys that are really interested can help me by trying some of the
prototypes as they come into being, should be a bit of fun ask Mark as he knows
    it can be interesting.

    Cheers, Boz.

Seeing as I live about a 7 iron from the factory . . . how about we take some down to Warringah's practice area for a play ?

Good idea, except I 'm out of action for a bit as I ruptured my achilles
on Saturday and will be getting an op tomorrow to sort it out.

We can talk soon though and yes the boys at the factory are keen as we
like Warringah for a late hit.

    Cheers,
    Boz.

Picked up 3 dozen UTri tours for $89 from HOG at Virginia. He reckons they are the last ones he is getting in. Played with them today, and was impressed with them. Nice feel off the putter.
