The Stack system
Has anyone used the stack system? Been reading more and more on it specifically and keen to hear what people thought.
Bit more of an investment due to cost of product and also needing something to measure swing speed without hitting a ball.
Thanks all

Just heard about this yesterday, look up the Force Plate Guy podcast interview with Sasho MacKenzie. very interesting stuff.

Seems it's like the speed sticks thing, but with a little more personalised app.
Just the start up cost is steep.

I think it’s great. Yes, it’s an investment but as long as you’re consistent with it, you’ll see results. I’ve increased swing speed with max effort and found my normal effort swings are significantly faster too.
I’ve used Speed Sticks previously and prefer Stack because of the app and more adjustable weights.
As an added bonus, the putting part of the app is great.

I like the concept of The Stack System, especially the app, and probably would have got them, if someone didn't sell some Speed Sticks here, which I grabbed instead. I might move to Stack if/when I plateau with the Speed Sticks.
For swing speed measurement without a ball, I use the Swing Caddie SC200+, but the PRGR is often recommended too.

The guys on Chasing Scratch had good results from Stack.
I have speed sticks but never consistent enough to get results!

So you need another swing radar to work with it?

The last bit isn't true. Doing swing speed stuff at the very least can stop your swing from getting slower as you age.

If you all start doing swing speed training, my gains will be wasted.

That really isn't the problem.
But for that much money with today's tech availability, I expect it will have the sensor installed to detect speed.

The cost includes access to the app and programs which are continually developed.

Seriously - all these nonsense training aids are for fat choppers looking for a holy grail.
Go to gym, get fitter, more flexable and stronger, you will move faster and you will hit the ball further.
It aint rocket surgery
(off my soap box now)

Have you used them? The speed sticks have definitely had an impact on the way I swing the driver, as the body finds a way to swing it faster. That said, it is not necessarily the sticks that are doing that but the programs that come with it.
I also go to the gym.

Bullshit Virge. Go to the gym so you have the ability to swing faster without injuring yourself. The Speed Sticks train your mind to realise that the ceiling is higher.

The day you lads show me Tour players actually using these things without being paid to do so is the day i change my mind. Otherwise all i see are players in the gym to Stability, Strength and flexibility training. Horshel, Rhambo, Fowler, Fleetwood and Rory have tonnes of videos of them doing gym work, not one time have i seen on the range with them using this stuff.
Happy to be corrected, i hold no real bias, but i see players with weights, cables and kettlebells, not sticks with various forms of fishing sinkers on the end of them.

If anyone should be biased to gym work versus Speed Sticks it would be John at Precision Athletica in Homebush. I think he gives a pretty fair rundown of how it worked in his YouTube vids.
By no means am I saying you should do one or the other but if you're chasing speed then overspeed training is a must IMHO. A gym programme allows you to take advantage of it.

Virge, i agree with much of what you say above, most training aids are gimmicks.
But i think the Stack is the real deal, its not the device itself, but the system ( Phone app, AI etc) that goes with it.
Dunno if you have heard of Sasho Mackenzie, he is a leading biomechanics guy. He talks about the Stack here, and many other interesting things. He may well be the inventor of it https://www.buzzsprout.com/1601314/11523952-episode-8-dr-sasho-mackenzie.mp3
Anyone thinking of buying this thing should listen to this.
