I'm in.
But I disagree with the new seeding system considering first round losers ended up in the semi finals.
POTY is a much more accurate seeding system, and also seeds those players that played alot of ozgolf days last year and are more likely to be available for each round of the matchplay this year.

You should have used a singular, not a plural.
Petey, the only place seeding will make a difference is if there are first round byes needed because we don't have enough to make a full draw.

Don't worry at least you guys will have enough for at least half a draw. NSW may get 12 if we are lucky.

Maybe we could have a small nomination fee for the Matchplay, payable to the upkeep of the site, to encourage only genuine starters........
ok, let me have it.

why note take it a step further and make all 1st tee events payable up front to the event organiser. This would help weed out frivalous signing up and pulling out from threads. There's nothing worse than having to make up excuses to a host club when some ignorant prick hasn't shown up for their tee time.... don't get me started.... Just a thought.

Good idea. Blakey initially proposed that there be a fee that would go towards a prize. Going towards the site is just as good, if it's not getting enough from other donations (I'm not sure on this).

In regards to the proposed fees. Why don't we just say that everyone who plays in an official 1st tee game pay $5 extra that can then be forwarded on to go towards site upkeep?

That would send Andy broke.
And it would stop people posting matches, which is not a good thing.
I still think the matchplay fee is a goer.

At least I'll give someone an easy round one victory. Don't mind paying a small donation to participate. We should have a seeding system (a) to ensure someone like myself doen't advance too far, and (b) no one around here seems to understand the concept of a random draw.

I don't think we really need to do this. People can just organise their own groups separate to the forum to avoid the fee if they want, and we wouldn't want to encourage that.

Mr Admin?
I'm not sure that it's up to me. I say this quite often, but I'm a forum admin, not an event organiser. I just happen to take a strong interest in most events, and having a lot to do with the organisation.
If everyone thinks this is a good idea, I say we do it.

It's handicap matchplay, and some strange things can happen.

Can I play too if I am inflexible with dates.
1st round I should be in town for Wynnum.
2nd round, Easter.
3rd round, mid July, I'll be down for the V8's.
Assuming I actually win a game or two
Terry.
