Which bands songs appear....
the most in movies etc. I was just watching Ace Ventura (JC's best work in my opinion, it still makes me cry (in a good way)) and heard an aerosmith song playing. It made me think of which band/performer has had songs appear in movies more than anyone else.
I'm thinking aerosmith has to right up there. They seem to appear in every second movie these days. I don't think bryan adams would even be close to them.
Who else can you think of??
And I'm not talking about a song faintly in the background. I mean the song used for say a specific sequence ('dude looks like a lady' during the sequence of Mrs Doubtfire for instance), opening or closing credits etc. omething significant.

I am thinking Badly Drawn Boy would be the winner of most songs appearing in the one movie from their album About A Boy, in the Hugh Grant movie of the same name.

My bet would be The Doors from the movie of the same name.

I think that should be an instant DQ, considering the movie is about the band itself.

If you start out depressed everything’s kind of a pleasant surprise.

Come on, the movie can't be about the band itself! Otherwise I vote the Wiggles in The Wiggles Movie.

Funny this got picked up, as my BIL and I were talking about it today, after a Bryan Adams song was played at work. We're thinking him, aerosmith and ac/dc.
Not including movies about bands!!!!

Giorgio Moroder (though technically not a band) has about 10.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

You are right, it was some of my best work. Thanks for the compliment. I also really enjoyed "Dumb and Dumber" (Aus title DC68 & G69).
Dude looks like a Lady is also in the 80's comedy Vice Versa.
