It was a sad day indeed. A very fitting tribute, just showed what a fantastic bloke he is.... Incredibly brave of the girls to get up and sing.

Thanks to Jamie for driving Eag's and I up.

Definately the toughest funeral I have ever been to. The first one I have not been able to hold back the tears and boy was I bawling. Yup, definately when the girls were singing was a major tough point. It was so beautiful and bittersweet.

The turnout was huge and boy did the Church and family and friends do an amazing job at organising it all. It was a very fitting tribute to Leon. The golf clubs, and Star Wars helmets on the stage were a very nice touch.

Iain when you put that hat on the coffin was a special moment. It was very fitting and very touching and you could see Leah was really touched when you did it. Leah was very appreciative that you guys turned up and it was great to see the ozgolf shirts there. I am sure Leon would have loved that!

Guys I am going to put together a CD of any photos I can find of Leon for Leah. If you have sent me photos in the past that might have him in it, no need to send them again, but if you have any photos of Leon, please send them to me and I will add them to the cd. If the files are too large to email you can zip them and send them via a file sharing service like yousendit.com or if you prefer you can send them via snail mail. Just send me a pm and I will send you our postal address.

    Thanks heaps guys!

I only read this thread today, and it was with a heavy heart. I was hoping it wasn't what I thought it would be, but...

I only got to meet Jaster once at an ozgolf day up at City G.C. He was a really nice guy who obviously adored his Pings.

My sympathy to his wife and little girls. As a father, I can only imagine Jaster's anguish at not being physically there to watch them grow up. I know he'll find a way to keep an eye on them somehow.

    Hi all,

I've been wanting to do something to help Leah and the kids for a while, but wanted to wait and find out what help they needed most. I know now how I'd like us to help them. Not surprisingly it is financial. I know she has some big bills coming soon and I know it is going to make things tight for her.

So if anyone would like to help in a fund raise for her it would be much appreciated. You can pm me for the bank acc details.

The members at iseekgolf did a fantastic job of raising funds to go towards the girls education. I'd like to say hats off to you guys. Especially Jack who initiated it and took care of it all. Well done guys.

Now it's our turn to help.

What if you organised a fundraising golf day or something? That way you can raise money while all doing something that you and LEON really enjoyed! Maybe even do it at his home course and they might sponsor it or something ?

Just an idea. I organised one for charity once and raised a lot of money from it!! The club gave us reduced rates for the day and I marked up the joining fee. Also put a notice in the local paper and had businesses donating prizes etc for raffles. If you think it would work and need a hand, let me know...

I'm sure goughy mentioned organising a yearly event at City GC somewhere, but I can't find it.

City GC is in Toowoomba isn't it?!?

Sounds like a great idea though.

For those who would like to donate, there are paypal links at the bottom of the front page/portal and in the sidebar.

    It definitely can be done.

The mod to rotate banners has been installed, and I've got my support guys working on creating the banners.

You have no idea. He was part of the lefties on bsg, and there were one or two guys on there that used to send him a lot of stuff. Leah has 2 bags of clubs just how Leon left them, one for each of the girls. Of course they are right handers.
