The AP2's are prob the pick of the bunch. But honestly, I'm not sold on any of them.
New Scotty Cameron Studio Select range.
I was in a House of Golf store at lunch today just having a browse and whilst having a putt I got talking to the Callaway rep who was cleaning the Odyssey display. I mentioned that I bought an Odyssey White Hot XG #1 and was very pleased with its performance, although I said that I find the head a little light.
He went out to his car and brought in the latest Odyssey White Hot TOUR #1 for me to try. This isn't being release until March in the stores.
I was very excited to have a putt with it, the putter head maintains the current profile for both the head and the insert, however the insert I was told is a little firmer and they have solved the gripe with my current putter by installing a 340 gram head. It has a pale brushed brass finish with TOUR written across the bottom and a funky new grip.
It rolled super well and felt very comfortable in the hands.
If this had been released when I bought my Odyssey, I would definitely have pulled the trigger on it.
Can't find any close up pics on the web for it otherwise I would have posted it, so here is the marketing.
I'm generally not in the right place at the right time, but I was today.
Cheers
Chappy

The way I read that, the shaft goes only into the ferrule ? So you would have to tip the shit out of the shaft firstly and make in unusable ever again ?
Right or wrong ?
I do like how they say it suits right and left though
Shaft does only go into ferrule and you do have to tip it a fair bit from what I read. But I guess you can buy more of the connectors and use the same shaft on many heads.
Also "Only weighs 8 grams" that's a shitload when it comes to swing weight points usually about 4! isn't that right Jack!
Yea but you probably chop that off the shaft by tipping it so much Perci.

oh great, its hard enough deciding which 14 out of 15 clubs to use, let alone having a bunch of different shafts to screw in
Depending on how long the bit is that sits in the head, it juts out say a 1/4 inch, another inch for the bit that goes into the head, so an inch and a quarter.
Not sure where the weight is centred in a shaft but if a normal shaft after cutting is 43" or so, 8 grams at the tip seems significant.
Absolutely a 46" shaft weighing 65 to 75 grams an inch or so do the math it ain't Rocket Surgery!
I'm sure the shaft manufacturers will compensate & start producing shafts made specifically to suit. If a bunch of clowns like us can raise these questions, then I'm sure the highly paid R & D depts would already have the answers.
But it is just smt making these, not tm. Would the shaft manufacturers really make stuff just for an smt gimmick.
Goughy as far as i know, SMT are first to make the adaptor available to the public. Some OEM's have done it for clubfitters and some have specific clubs with the feature but this is the first adaptor.
I don't think the shaft need to be tipped as much as you guys may be thinking. It looks like it inserts in the head about an inch with the black section "ferrule" being over an inch as well. Could be a problem on some deeper bores / bore throughs but i'm sure they will come up with a version for them too.

I remember about 2.5yrs ago trying out shafts and head combinations using screw in shafts out our pro shop here in coffs. A range session with this system could be valuable before a purchase

Inside Social Golf magazine talks about the interchangable shafts. Apparently they were made legal last year so all the manufacturers will be coming out with them. Apparently (also!) TM already has something.
