I see the 907 D1 and D2 are due here in May
I'm sure Dion already has the date marked on his calendar.
Maybe sooner.... the titty demo guys has them already
The D2 is a very nice looking stick (hope it plays just as well), don't think it'll replace my 905R though, unless a bargain is to be had.
EDIT: Actually I've just had a nother look and the D2 looks too much like a TM driver for my liking, it has a good looking sole, but from address gone is the pear shape

Hop back in the tardis and join us in reality!
Tried the 907D1, 907D2, 905R and 905S side by side at the Titleist demo night tonight.
907D1 9.5deg VS Proto 65S - seemed to go pretty straight, albeit high once I got used to the looks of it. Shaft felt nice on smooth swings. Ear-shattering metallic sound.
907D2 9.5deg UST V2 75S - much better looking at address. Not as forgiving as D1. Better ballflight (ie. lower, flatter) Sounds like a typical Titleist ie. solid crack.
905R 9.5deg UST V2 75S - similar looks to the D2, although grey versus black. Looked a touch smaller in footprint than D2. Similar feel and initial ballflight, but did seem to spin more (arced upwards) than D2. Sounds just a touch more muted than D2.
905S 8.5 Graf Blue S - visibly much smaller than all of the above. Deeper faced and smaller footprint. Flight was a lot lower than others and didn't appear to be carrying as far. Relative to the others, it sounded "old school", very much a thud.
Wasn't able to try the D2 with the VS Proto shaft, but I get the feeling it wouldn't suit me based on how it felt in the D1. Saw the Cobras too, but they are not my cup of tea.
Has anyone here tried the 907D2 with VS Proto shaft?
I tried the shaft in a D1, but the head shape and sound was just too foreign for me to really judge what the shaft was like. I've always liked light & stiff driver shafts and was wondering what the VS Proto 65-S or X would be like?
The V2 75-S worked nicely in the D2 for me, but I couldn't tell whether the extra weight was hurting me. I doubt I'd have the tempo to warrant a heavy shaft like that.
Haven't seen them mentioned anywhere else, so here's the recently released Odyssey White Hot XG Marxman putter:
Gold & Red (Tour Spec) Cleveland irons
coloured plastic inserts - what fantastic new technology will they think of next.
Blakey
If you knew anything about about equipment you would know the Tour Spec plastic insert increases your swing speed by orders of magnitude.....
.....because its red and everyone knows red goes faster.
By the way, I thought the D1 played well on the course. Feels like Titleist, looks like conehead, but the traj was quite good.
I hit it fairly high usually, which is why it took so long to actually put it in the bag, I was afraid I would balloon it.
It had the VS proto, I lent it to a scratch marker mate on the last and he was astounded by how far it went. He has been using a 905R so it was a good comparison, even if for only one shot. I haven't played it on my home track yet so not sure on distance but the smoother swings went better than the harder swings.
I could also draw it (naturally ) but also managed to fade it as well. Overall I found it very straight, which was nice... if only I could aim straight now
