I'd be surprised if nike were the only company that could be caught out on this. I'm sure if they found out who dobbed them in they'd be keeping a close eye on their products.

I was in my local Drummond Golf store yesterday. They had the new seamless ProV1's in stock as well as a selection of Ping Redwood putters. They felt very nice, but the Anser shape is not my cup of tea.

I've been using the seemless for a few rounds now, they seem quite good. Seemingly no better or worse than any other high end ball.

I used a TaylorMade TP black the other night, the amount of spin I got with those was very impressive. I think I was using a confronting wedge as well

I also hit the D1 and D2 last night at the local range, after watching some guy land the D2 one bounce into the back fence (250m uphill) it sounded and looked quite solid.

I hit the D1 first, 9.5 with VS proto regular, moon balls.

D2, v2 75, much better and flatter flight. Felt much better off the face than the 905R does. Impressive clubs, but the Hi Bore XL Tour feels better

How was the shape of the D1? Was it confronting? Do you think it'd be any good with a more suitable shaft, or was it too hard to tell the way it was setup?

I like the sound of the "flatter" flight you got out of the D2...

Bris, you look at the D1 and you immediately do think of the Coneheads movie, you can't help but do that !!

I feel the triangle is almost pointed, that's how sharp it looked and the jet black is just not a titleist colour... just looked ALL wrong

I reckon I could get away with a reg shaft these days, but the V2 in the D2 felt a lot more solid overall.

The black does take some getting used to. I found my 585H looks a bit odd next to the others. I guess over time as I get a new driver and fairway, it'll be all good. It's just that Titleist woods has been charcoal grey for so long, black just looks "cheap" or something.

    I hope it is released.

Whilst my irons were getting their lie angles checked today, I wandered around Drummond looking at some new stuff:

    - FT-5 looks identical to FT-3
    - HiBore XL is substantially larger than the original HiBore
    - IMO, the regular HiBore XL head is a better shape than the HiBore XL Tour
    - I waggled a Rapture with VS Proto and thought it was very whippy for a stiff shaft

    That's all for now.

No word on that yet. The only real info was that it's a prototype and may never make it to retail.
